  • Patent number: 11910363
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish multiple wireless connections, such as a wireless connection for a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a wireless connection for a second SIM, that share time-frequency resources. The UE may communicate data packets with another device during a communication session on the wireless connection for the first SIM. The UE may determine to pause the communication session for a duration based on receiving an indication from the other UE or based on a user input to pause communication. The UE may communicate data packets on the wireless connection for the second SIM for at least a portion of the duration using the shared time-frequency resources based on pausing the communication session.

  • Patent number: 11076427
Abstract: Techniques are described for handling collisions between uplink transmissions and downlink transmissions over a wireless spectrum. Some of the techniques allow a UE to perform a collision management procedure after identifying a transmission collision (e.g., a collision between a downlink transmission with repetition and an uplink transmission, or a collision between a downlink transmission with repetition and a guard frame for an uplink transmission). The collision management procedure allows the UE to refrain from transmitting at least part of an uplink transmission, refrain from decoding at least part of a downlink transmission, or a combination thereof. Other techniques allow a base station to mitigate transmission collisions by scheduling downlink transmissions based on received, inferred, or determined parameters of uplink transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10771192
Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for early termination of decoding of communication channels for power saving in narrowband devices are provided. One technique includes monitoring for one or more first repetitions of at least one communication channel from a base station. The device determines, based on the monitoring, whether to refrain from monitoring for one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel. The device enters a low power mode if the determination is to refrain from monitoring for the one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel.

  • Patent number: 10244426
Abstract: Aspects of frequency error detection with Physical Broadcast CHannel (PBCH) frequency hypothesis are described. For example, a method and apparatus are disclosed for frequency tracking in a user equipment (UE) may include detecting a change in frequency that exceeds a pull-in range of a frequency tracking loop (FTL) of the UE. The method and apparatus may also include identifying a tracking recovery frequency in response to the change in frequency being detected, wherein the tracking recover frequency is identified from a set of frequency hypotheses and based on decoding of the PBCH received by the UE. The method and apparatus may further include updating the FTL with the tracking recovery frequency.

  • Publication number: 20170223589
Abstract: Various embodiments include multi-subscription multi-standby (MSMS) communication devices and methods for managing reception of data using a first subscription following a tune-away by a radio frequency (RF) resource chain from the first subscription to a second subscription. In various embodiments the MSMS communication device may receive data over the first subscription during a warm-up period of the RF resource chain following completion of the tune-away. In some embodiments, the device processor may receive the data over the first subscription during the warm-up period using one or more channel parameters of the first subscription determined before the tune-away. In some embodiments, the device processor may receive data over the first subscription during the warm-up period using one or more channel parameters of the first subscription determined initially during the warm-up period.
