  • Patent number: 10988076
Abstract: A steering column control module includes a stalk assembly pivotably connected to a control module housing. A plurality of magnets is connected to and movable by the stalk assembly. A plurality of sensors senses the positions of the plurality of magnets and sends signals indicating the positions of the magnets. A controller receives the signals to control vehicle functions.

  • Patent number: 9147534
Abstract: A steering column control module comprises a housing having at least two receptacles. A printed circuit board is mounted in the housing, the printed circuit board carrying first and second electrical connectors. A third electrical connector is mounted in the housing remote from the printed circuit board. A ribbon cable is connected between the second and third electrical connectors. The receptacles are adapted to receive respective switch modules. The first and third electrical connectors are positioned and configures so that, when plugged into respective receptacles, the switch modules connect to respective ones of the first and third electrical connectors.

  • Patent number: 6324845
Abstract: A self contained, supplemental vacuum assist unit is provided for use with a vacuum brake booster and a source of vacuum in a motor vehicle. The unit includes, within a single housing, an electric motor, an air pump driven by the motor, a manifold defining air exhaust and assist vacuum chambers, a pair of check valves permitting air flow from the pump outlet and the assist vacuum chamber to the air exhaust chamber, an outlet from the air exhaust chamber with a fitting for connection to the vacuum source, an opening from the assist vacuum chamber with a fitting providing communication directly to the interior of the vacuum chamber of the booster, and a pressure sensor including a diaphragm, plunger, magnet with a Hall effect sensor and motor control circuitry on a circuit board within the assist vacuum chamber. The unit is compact, light weight and efficient and is designed for attachment directly to the booster with no intervening vacuum hose therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6006649
Abstract: A power booster is operable at relatively low apply rates and at relatively high apply rates and includes an input assembly that has a movable input rod and a primary reaction piston having a first reaction area. An output support body is responsive to movement of the input rod, with a resilient reaction disc engaging the output support body. A secondary reaction body has a second reaction area and is engageable with the reaction disc and transfers loads between the reaction disc and the input assembly at relatively low apply rates. The amount of the load transferred is a function of both the first reaction area and the second reaction area at the relatively low apply rates resulting in a first reaction ratio. The primary reaction piston is engageable with the reaction disc and transfers loads between the output support body and the input assembly during relatively high apply rates.

  • Patent number: 4861234
Abstract: The low-noise pump assembly (10) comprises a unitized assembly wherein a drive shaft (17) of the motor (16) is mated directly with an eccentric coupling (23). The eccentric coupling (23) has a through bore (21) which receives at one end the drive shaft (17) and at the other end a center post (30) of the pump housing. Disposed between the center post (30) and eccentric coupling (23) is a radially inner bearing mechanism (60), and disposed between the exterior of the eccentric coupling (23) and an opening (52) of a ring member (50) is a radially outer bearing mechanism (70). The ring member (50) engages at least one reciprocating piston assembly (45). Rotation of the drive shaft (17) causes rotation of the eccentric coupling (23) to effect reciprocating motion of the pump piston (48).
