  • Patent number: 11697107
Abstract: The present invention describes a mixture comprising carbonaceous raw material of low value as a fuel and a nanocatalyst. The catalytic mixture comprises from 1% to 50% by weight of a nanocatalyst; and from 99% to 50% by weight of carbonaceous raw material selected from petroleum coke, coal, heavy residual fraction of oil, or a mixture thereof. The nanocatalyst comprises a carbon nanomaterial of between 99.99% and 80% by weight in contents and at least one alkali metal of between 0.01% and 20% by weight in contents, based on the total weight of the nanocatalyst, and the specific surface area of the nanocatalyst ranges between 400 and 1300 m2/g. Furthermore, the present invention also describes a process for gasifying the catalytic mixture which comprises the steps of placing the mixture in a gasifier; heating the mixture in the presence of an oxidizing agent selected from air, pure oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapor, or a mixture thereof at a temperature ranging between 200 and 1,300° C.

  • Publication number: 20230050542
Abstract: The present invention addresses to obtaining a support of hydrorefining catalysts by an innovative preparation route that reduces the problem of loss (or leaching) of boron over the operating time of industrial units. As the presence of boron in catalysts contributes to increased activity (hydrogenating and acidic) and stability for the hydrorefining reactions (hydrotreating and hydrocracking), its maintenance in the catalyst guarantees the preservation of the properties in operation, throughout the entire cycle of campaign of industrial units.

  • Publication number: 20230002691
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst to be applied to the process of gasification of coke or coal, individually or in mixture, and to the process of preparing said catalyst, which is useful in obtaining higher levels of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which allows the conversion of coke into by-products of higher added value (hydrogen-rich syngas). The present invention also addresses to a process for converting petroleum coke by using a catalyst according to the present invention.

  • Patent number: 11472700
Abstract: A process for producing a hydrogen-rich gas stream from a liquid hydrocarbon stream, the process comprising the steps of introducing the liquid hydrocarbon stream to a dual catalytic zone, the liquid hydrocarbon stream comprises liquid hydrocarbons selected from the group consisting of liquid petroleum gas (LPG), light naphtha, heavy naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and combinations of the same, the dual catalytic zone comprises: a combustion zone comprising a seven component catalyst, and a steam reforming zone, the steam reforming zone comprising a steam reforming catalyst; introducing steam to the dual catalytic zone, introducing an oxygen-rich gas to the dual catalytic zone; contacting the liquid hydrocarbon stream, steam, and oxygen-rich gas with the seven component catalyst to produce a combustion zone fluid; and contacting the combustion zone fluid with the steam reforming catalyst to produce the hydrogen-rich gas stream, wherein the hydrogen-rich gas stream comprises hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 11241683
Abstract: The present invention relates to catalysts of iron and chromium with a platinum promoter for use in water-gas shift reactions, both at low temperatures (LTS) and at high temperatures (HTS). Their characteristics of higher activity due to the addition of Pt compared to the conventional catalysts make them superior to the commercial catalysts in the same operating conditions. Because precursors of the active phase (Fe3O4) are obtained in greater quantity per unit area, it was possible to prepare catalysts that are more promising with a smaller surface area.
