Abstract: Process for preparing ultrafine inorganic particles of size lower than 50 nm, preferably lower than 10, with narrow size distribution, of metals, oxides, sulphides, carbonates by starting from microemulsions of water in a fluorinated oil, preferably a perfluoropolyether oil, containing metal ions in the aqueous phase and by reacting them with a reactant which is gaseous, or vapour, in the reaction conditions, for obtaining the above indicated compounds.

Abstract: Process for preparing dispersions containing mixed oxides having particle size lower than or equal to 50 nm and having narrow size distribution, comprising the following steps:P1) preparing a microemulsion of water in oil, the oil being a perfluoropolyether, said microemulsion being obtained using a perfluoropolyether surfactant, the aqueous phase consisting of a solution of an inorganic salt of a M1 metal;P2) preparing a M2 metal salt of an anionic perfluoropolyether surfactant, such salt being soluble in the perfluoropolyether oil used in P1, the amount by moles of surfactant being such as to fully bind to the cation and so as not to be in excess;P3) adding P2 to P1 for obtaining the reaction system containing the two metals M1 and M2; M1 in aqueous phase and M2 in perfluoropolyether oil phase;P4) adding alkali solution to P3 with contemporaneous or subsequent heating, if P3 has not yet been heated, at the temperature necessary to form the desired oxide; then cooling and separating the aqueous supernatant;M

Abstract: Polishes for metal surfaces, based on dispersions of waxes, fluorinated polymers and perfluoropolyoxyalkylene oils acquire high gloss characteristics combined with improved water-repellency and resistance to soiling of 0.1-5% by weight of at least a cationic emulsifier comprised in the general formula(I) R-L-Q.sup.+ X.sup.-where:R=a chain of perfluoropolyoxyalkylene units;L=a divalent organic group;Q=a polar group;X=a halogen, or a group of formulaCH.sub.3 -Phenylene-SO.sub.3.sup.-R"SO.sub.3.sup.-R"=F-(CF.sub.2).sub.m -;t=1 or 2;m=1-4.The polished containing the emulsifiers of formula (I) as well as the compounds comprised in said formula are claimed as new products.

Abstract: Oil- and water-repellency is imparted to the surface of a porous ceramic material, in particular of "cotto", by applying a phosphoric monoester having formula: ##STR1## where: L is a divalent organic group; m=1; Y is --F or --CF.sub.3 ;Z.sup.+ is a cation; R.sub.f is a polyperfluoroalkylene oxide chain.
