  • Publication number: 20130051484
Abstract: At least one implementation herein enables at least two multicarrier apparatuses or nodes operating on overlapped frequency bands with different tone spacing to communicate. In particular, a first node may use a tone spacing that is less than the tone spacing used by a second node. The first and second nodes may communicate and are thus aligned when the second node transmits identical symbols over a time duration equal to a length of a symbol used by the first node.

  • Publication number: 20120027069
Abstract: A method limits the effect of repetitive electrical impulse noise in a communication system. • Publication number: 20120011229
Abstract: Described herein are techniques related to a generation of a short identifier of a domain/network that is based upon the long human-readable network/domain name (NDN) that a user or admin typically gives to the network/domain. With one or more implementations described herein, the short network/domain identifier (DNI) is based upon a version of the long human-readable NDN that has been modified to remove any data that is superfluous to distinguishing the NDN for any other. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20110235610
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to a network element that is configured to be associated with a network having a number of nodes. A proxy node is configured to distinguish between a some signals received from a master node and other signals received from at least one hidden node, where the at least one hidden node is unable to bi-directionally directly communicate with the master at a given time. The proxy node is further configured to relay at least one signal between the master node and the hidden node to facilitate addition of the hidden node to the network via the master node. • Publication number: 20110235657
Abstract: A method and apparatus are herein provided to align media access control (MAC) cycles of networks of different medium types. Information is obtained that indicates a timing information of a first MAC cycle in a first network of a first medium type and a second MAC cycle in a second network of a second medium type. A buffer is provided for storing the timing information. Alignment information is derived based on the timing information of the first/second network that enables alignment of the MAC cycles between the first and second networks. A controller unit is provided for deriving the alignment information.

  • Patent number: 8027388
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method of transferring data in a communication system. In the method, an initial impulse noise protection value is determined. A number of redundancy bits is added to blocks of data to form codewords as a function of the initial impulse noise protection value, where the impulse noise protection value corresponds to a number of consecutive symbols that can be corrected. The number of symbols that can be correctly transmitted is changed by changing only the number of redundancy bits added to each block of data.
