  • Publication number: 20140358340
Abstract: In a first forward drive mode, at speeds of the vehicle lower than a predetermined speed, an electric traction motor (17) drives the wheels (12, 13) of the vehicle, while an internal-combustion engine (27) drives an electric generator (34) or rests. The generator charges an electric battery (38), or powers the traction motor, or both. In a second forward drive mode, at speeds of the vehicle higher than the predetermined speed, the engine drives the electric generator and the wheels of the vehicle, while the traction motor is not energized. In a third forward drive mode, at speeds of the vehicle higher than the predetermined speed, the traction motor, powered by the electric battery, together with the engine drive the wheels of the vehicle. In a reverse drive mode the traction motor alone drives the wheels of the vehicle. A clutch (32) selectively interrupts the power transmission between the engine and the wheels of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7497285
Abstract: At speeds of the vehicle lower than a predetermined speed, two rotors (19, 20) of a dual-rotor motor (17), rotating in opposite directions under the action of the same electromagnetic forces, drive the wheels (12, 13, 15, 16) of two drive axles (11, 14) respectively, driving the vehicle in a low-speed/four-wheel-drive mode, while an internal-combustion engine (45) drives an electric generator (52) or rests. The generator powers the dual-rotor motor, or charges an electric battery (56), or both. At speeds higher than the predetermined speed, the engine driving the generator also drives the wheels (12, 13) of the first drive axle (11), whereas under normal load the dual-rotor motor does not operate and the engine alone drives the vehicle in a high-speed/two-wheel drive mode, while under heavy load the dual-rotor motor, powered by the battery, operates and together with the engine drive the vehicle in a high-speed/four-wheel-drive mode.

  • Patent number: 7466053
Abstract: An inner rotor (21) is arranged as a motor field, including permanent magnets (25) embedded in an inner rotor core (24) and an inner rotor shaft (26) coupled with the inner rotor core. An outer rotor (22) is arranged as a motor armature, including a hollow armature core (36), plurality of windings (37), two side flanges (38, 39), and an outer rotor shaft (40) coupled with one of the side flanges. The inner rotor is rotatably supported inside the outer rotor, and both rotors are rotatably supported inside a stationary motor enclosure (23). Electric current is conducted to the windings of the armature via brushes (58) and sliprings (59). The interaction between a revolving electromagnetic field of the outer rotor and the permanent magnetic field of the inner rotor propels both rotors to rotate in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 6005358
Abstract: A dual-rotor electric motor (1), having an outer rotor (3) and an inner rotor (4), drives a first drive axle (5) and a second drive axle (6), while also provides inter-axle speed differential function. One of the drive axles is also a steering axle. Torque and rotation are transmitted between the outer rotor and the first drive axle through a clutch (19) and a first drive shaft (20), and between the inner rotor and the second drive axle through a second drive shaft (22). A first brake (24) brakes the rotation of the outer rotor, and a second brake (25) brakes the rotation of the inner rotor. A fluid pressure source, including a pump (51) and an accumulator (59), provides fluid pressure, through a plurality of fluid lines, for operating the clutch and brakes. Electromagnetic control valves (60, 61, 62) control the operation of the clutch and brakes.

  • Patent number: 5226777
Abstract: Apparatus and system for loading and unloading a load onto and from a load carrying device mounted on a vehicle which is capable of producing a significant lift of the load and changing the angular position of the load at different load elevations. A bellcrank supports the load carrying device. A first pin pivotally mounts the bellcrank to the vehicle. A second pin pivotally mounts the load carrying device to the bellcrank. A first power device pivots the bellcrank around the first pin and a second power device pivots the load carrying device around the second pin.
