  • Patent number: 9699431
Abstract: One variation of a method for monitoring an object during a presentation, includes: initiating capture of a video with a camera defining a field of view, the camera arranged on a first side of a mobile computing device supported on a base device; generating a position signal defining a position of the remote device relative to the camera; in response to wirelessly receiving a first input selection from the remote device, indexing through digital slide content rendered on a display arranged on the first side of the mobile computing device; in response wirelessly receiving sensor data from a remote device coupled to the object, generating an event tag including a timestamp; and generating a multimedia stream including the video, the position signal data, digital slide content, the first input selection, and the event tag.

  • Patent number: 8186253
Abstract: Power tool includes a movable blade and a detection system for detecting contact between the blade and an object. Detection system includes an excitation plate capacitively coupling the drive signal to the movable blade. A circuit generates an in-phase component signal and a quadrature component signal from a blade current signal indicative of the instantaneous current drawn by the movable blade and calculates an energy of the blade current signal considering the in-phase and the quadrature components. The circuit compares the energy of the blade current signal to an adaptive trigger threshold to detect contact between the blade and the object based on whether the energy of the blade current signal is greater than the adaptive trigger threshold.

  • Publication number: 20110228098
Abstract: A method is provided to track an object, the method comprising: directing a video imager to perform image recognition to recognize a feature of the object within an imager field of view and to determine a position of the feature within the field of view; using an IR sensor to determine a position of an infrared (IR) transmitter; and automatically adjusting orientation of the imager as a function of the position of the recognized feature within the field of view and the determined position of the IR transmitter to follow movement of the object.

  • Publication number: 20100206145
Abstract: A power tool is disclosed. The power tool may comprise a movable blade and a detection system for detecting contact between the blade and an object. The detection system may comprise an excitation plate capacitively coupling the drive signal to the movable blade and a circuit in communication with the excitation plate. The circuit may be configured to generate an in-phase component signal and a quadrature component signal from a blade current signal indicative of the instantaneous current drawn by the movable blade and calculate an energy of the blade current signal considering the in-phase component and the quadrature component. The circuit may be further programmed to compare the energy of the blade current signal to an adaptive trigger threshold to detect contact between the blade and the object based on whether the energy of the blade current signal is greater than the adaptive trigger threshold.
