    Abstract: Mathematical method and algorithms for protecting 2D Barcode symbol from counterfeiting and encoded data from tampering with. The algorithms are based on Digital Signature concept, employ Reed-Solomon Error Correction mechanism built into the 2D Barcodes, and designed for embedded processing. The method is based on symmetrical encryption and makes use of the two independent key-exchange protocols. Encryption/decryption algorithms are built into the standard encoding/decoding schemes and result in almost no additional processing time.
