Abstract: An application platform is disclosed together with a method for operating a data processing arrangement on which the application platform is implemented along with at least one application which is executable on the application platform by accessing at least one programming interface of the application platform. In at least one embodiment, in the course of a change of version of the application platform or of a part of the platform, a check is carried out by way of an update module to determine whether a newly-to-be-installed more recent version of the application platform or of the part of the platform is consistent with the existing older version of the application platform or of the part of the platform in terms of the interface specification and/or the behavior of the or each programming interface. If necessary, the update module overwrites the older version with the more recent version.

Abstract: An application platform is disclosed in a medical environment with a number of computer systems providing an information technology infrastructure and a plurality of basic information technology services to a number of users in the medical environment. At least one embodiment of the application platform provides a particularly simple and coordinated upgrade and update by independent software manufacturers and further provides a particularly high operational fail-safety during updates and upgrades by preventing damage to the systems caused by third party installer programs. To this end, at least one embodiment of the application platform includes a plurality of platform versioning building blocks and a number of platform data repositories, wherein the plurality of platform versioning building blocks are mutually independently updateable.

Abstract: A method and an associated arrangement are disclosed for producing medical reports. The method is embodied in a medical data management system. in t least one embodiment, provision is made here for storing cross-reference data which cross-refers to object data that is obtained by way of various medical applications. The cross-reference data is used when producing medical reports, in order to include the associated object data, which is identified by the cross-reference data, in the report. in at least one embodiment, this results in an advantageous time saving when producing a medical report which can be considerable, particularly in the context of complex series of examinations involving various medical applications.

Abstract: A hospital information system including a number of distributed workstations for processing of medical data shall allow a coordinated, predictable and simulatable size-up/size-down of its systems allowing a determination of the technical and monetary consequences. To this end, in at least one embodiment, the hospital information system includes a central server unit, the workstations and the central server unit connected to each other via a data connection, wherein the central server unit includes a plurality of data interfaces, each data interface customized to provide a direct connection to one of the number of workstations, and wherein the central server unit further includes a data transfer module, an image and info nation processing module and a workflow management module.

Abstract: A method of operating a hospital information system, and a hospital information system are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the method includes providing a taskflow editing tool with a limited number of editing options to a user; creating a taskflow defining a number of tasks and connections of the tasks by the user using the taskflow editing tool; and performing an automated test run of the created taskflow, wherein the automated test run is checked according to a number of criteria and wherein results of the check are reported to the user.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, if the pre-start level has the value empty container, the computer creates a container within the framework of the pre-start but does not load any application into the container. If the pre-start level has the value application, the computer creates a respective container within the framework of the pre-start for each application. If the pre-start level has a higher value, the computer determines within the framework of the pre-start a degree of grouping for the applications assigned to the respective pre-started unit, and groups the applications in accordance with the degree of grouping determined into at least one container group. Within the framework of the processing of the complex tasks, the computer terminates on switching from one application to another application, the application still being executed only if the application involves an application not able to be suspended.

Abstract: A taskflow unit is disclosed including at least one of a device and module for controlling computer-aided medical tasks within a medical computer network. In at least one embodiment, tasks are assigned to different software units, wherein the tasks are merged to form at least one taskflow within the medical computer network. In at least one embodiment, the taskflow unit is installed on an application server within the computer network.

Abstract: A method and a computer system are disclosed for administration of medical applications running in parallel. At least one embodiment of the method includes creation of a number of application components as a result a beginning of a number of user actions; provision of a module for parallel execution and/or for coordination of the previously created application components, provision of a least one communication interface for exchanging messages and/or data between an application component and a command which is of interest to the application component which has been initiated by one of the user actions, and removal of the application component created by a user action after the user action has ended.

Abstract: In order to produce a set of medical findings based on image data which has been obtained by way of different imaging methods, a plurality of image viewer programs has hitherto been required. In at least one embodiment, a viewer device is to be provided, with which different image data can be viewed and with which it is simultaneously possible to produce a set of medical findings. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, a method is provided wherein a base page and at least one content page with display elements are selected and are loaded and activated by a program.

Abstract: A system and a computer-implemented method are disclosed, as well as a computer readable medium, for providing a number of web services for at least one medical viewing application, so as to provide the application with application-exceeding basic functionalities with regard to a transfer management service, a data management service, a workflow management service, a report management service, a protocol management service, an operating management service and an enterprise application integration management service. A web service of at least one embodiment, in that case, includes at least one remote service component, at least one business object and at least one service component.

Abstract: In large medical facilities such as hospitals or group practices run by physicians individual patients are often examined and treated by a number of specialists in succession. In view of this it is important, in spite of great differences in the workflows of the individual medical facilities, to coordinate the work of said specialists by way of an operator control device having a uniform user interface. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, methods and a program product for enabling data records to be located are provided for that purpose. By way of the methods and/or the program product, in at least one embodiment a basic page and at least one content page are provided, wherein by use of the basic page at least one display field for presenting information extracted from a data record can be generated on a screen display and wherein by use of the content page, information extracted from a data record can be displayed in a display field.

Abstract: A method and a computer system are disclosed for designing and/or providing computer-aided tasks for medical task flows. In at least one embodiment, the method includes providing one or more tasks of at least one task flow, which can exchange data with one or a number of other tasks, in so far as they comply with at least one requirement for exchanging data; providing task flow management, which manages requirements in respect of a task and grants a task access for a task flow according to at least one of the requirements; providing at least one task container, which is made available as host for a task, in so far as the task complies with at least one requirement for access to the host; and providing at least one domain platform, which is used to convert the functionality and logic of at least one task, in so far as the task complies with at least one requirement in respect of the conversion.

Abstract: A method for managing and/or processing medical image data is disclosed, in particular for controlling a medical workflow. Furthermore, a computer system and a computer program product having a computer program product code for implementing the method are disclosed. One embodiment is directed to a method for managing and/or processing medical image data including inputting medical image data generated by one or several modalities, the image data including the description data according to a predefined structure; assigning the image data to a template as a function of the classification thereof, with the template specifying the respective processing of image data in one or several processing steps and being used for the classification preferably of lists of classification criteria; and extracting the classification criteria at least partially from the description data.

Abstract: To provide tailor-made software for use in a specific department of a hospital, a software package suitable for use by more than one department of the hospital is provided including components implementing general tasks. Then, software is added implementing tasks which may be considered to extend the general tasks. This extension can be tailor-made for the specific department. In at least one embodiment, the software package includes both front end and back end software components, front end components reacting to user inputs and calling up back end software components, and the extension may be both at the front end and at the back end side.

Abstract: A software platform is provided for a hospital for example, wherein software modules (program code packages) are assigned in groups to different levels. In at least one embodiment, the presence of software interfaces allows software modules of different levels to be stored and run on different computer units with a data processing facility and storage unit, thus allowing communication between different levels by way of a data line. In at least one embodiment, this allows tasks to be moved out of the hospital, thereby saving costs.

Abstract: In a hospital, a virtual team can be formed on an interdepartmental basis, with individual roles of treating physicians being defined based on a scheme appropriate to a treatment situation and specific physicians being allocated to the roles such that just-in-time planning of a patient's treatment can be carried out. In at least one embodiment, the sequential execution of tasks appropriate to the individual departments is monitored by a central data processing device.

Abstract: A method, a device and a system arrangement are disclosed for generating self-contained software components having in each case synchronous and/or asynchronous interfaces with an internal threading model. The concept disclosed enables all necessary synchronization mechanisms to be provided automatically. The concept is based on an asynchronous operation manager used to divert callbacks from a called component into a calling component.

Abstract: In a data processing network there exist at least two applications which are different from one another in terms of the volumes of data that are to be processed. In at least one embodiment, each application has a multilayer structure and individual layers of the applications are distributed over different hardware resources, specifically at least one local data processing unit and at least one remote data processing unit, in such a way that the number of layers installed on the local data processing unit as a proportion of the total number of layers making up the respective application is less in the case of that application which is provided for processing the greater volume of data than in the case of the application which is provided for processing the smaller volume of data.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for processing data in different modalities involve applications accessing service modules which are set up by a runtime environment at the time of loading in line with a configuration file. This allows data in different modalities to be edited flexibly and with a resource saving.

Abstract: A data processing system is disclosed, for integrating two program frameworks. The system includes a generic container to communicate with applications implemented in a first framework and to enable them to communicate with one another. A generic component, implemented in the first framework, is included, which provides the functionalities of a second framework. Further, at least one new application is generated via the second framework or via a third framework based on the second framework, which uses the functionalities of the second framework. Finally, an adapter component is included to communicate between the generic component and the at least one new application.
