  • Publication number: 20220216781
Abstract: A harmonic regulator for an AC power system can include a regulator module configured to filter or cancel one or more harmonic frequencies of a fundamental frequency. The regulator module can be configured to inflect phase angle output about the one or more harmonic frequencies. The regulator module can be configured to shift phase at or near one or more harmonic frequencies by a shift angle to prevent primary regulator instability.

  • Publication number: 20220216815
Abstract: A system comprises a generator control unit (GCU) configured to control a generator. The system includes a first sensor connected to provide feedback to the GCU for generator control. The first sensor is configured to connect to sense at least one of voltage and/or current in a feeder connecting between the generator and a load. The system also includes a second sensor connected to provide feedback to the GCU for generator control. The second sensor is configured to sense at least one of voltage and/or current in a feeder connecting between the generator and the load. The first and second sensors are configured to connect to the feeder apart from one another with feeder impedance therebetween.

  • Patent number: 11283382
Abstract: A VSCF generator system includes a generator and electronics configured to control operations of the generator and a housing. The system also includes a power converter connected to the generator that receives AC current from the generator and converts it to DC current, the power converter including: an output filter that includes a filter capacitor; a sensor assembly that measures a voltage across the filter capacitor; and a controller that receives the measured voltage across the filter capacitor and creates an estimate of a current through the filter capacitor based on the filter capacitor. The estimate is based on a frequency domain representation of the filter capacitor as an ideal differentiator being passed through a bandpass filter with a center frequency equal to the operating frequency of the VSCF generator system and the controller controls operation of the generator portion based on the estimate of current through the filter capacitor.

  • Patent number: 10707774
Abstract: A system and method is provided for controlling conversion of a received DC voltage (Vdc) into an AC inverter voltage. The method includes determining a reference Vpor (Vpor_REF) based on measured or estimated Vdc such that Vpor_REF is feasible at all values of Vdc for regulating a modulation index signal M_abc at a selectable frequency ? as a function of a measured or estimated voltage at the point of reference (Vpor), wherein M_abc is regulated by Vpor_REF to regulate the inverter hardware circuit to output the AC inverter voltage in order for Vpor to satisfy a requirement appropriate for the load.
