  • Patent number: 8114351
Abstract: Analysis system and method for the analysis of a body fluid sample for an analyte contained therein are disclosed. The analysis system has a dosing station for dosing a liquid into a test element through a sample supply opening, which reacts with a reagent system present in a sample analysis channel of the test element. The analysis system also has a measurement station for measuring a measurement variable characteristic of the reaction at the measuring zone of a test element for the analytical result. The test element also includes a separate flushing liquid supply opening and a flushing liquid collection chamber which are in fluid communication to one another via a flushing liquid channel. The flushing liquid channel and the sample analysis channel differ from one another in such a manner that a liquid flowing through the flushing liquid channel does not reach the measuring zone.

  • Patent number: 8043582
Abstract: Methods for dosing a fluid into a receiving channel of a test element using a dosing device are disclosed. The dosing device comprises a dosing chamber in fluid connection with a dosing tube having a dosing tip, an optional dosing element extending at least partially into the dosing chamber, a dosing control device, and a movement device for moving the dosing tube and the test element closer to one another. The movement device is actuated to move the dosing tube relative to the test element. The dosing control device is actuated to discharge a fluid into the receiving channel. During the discharge, a fluid bridge forms between the dosing tip and the receiving channel. At the end of the discharge, at least some of the fluid reaches the receiving channel through suction force. A disposable cartridge may be used for dosing a fluid into such a receiving channel.

  • Publication number: 20040141880
Abstract: There is disclosed a sample processing system for processing a sample contained in a liquid. Specifically, there is disclosed a sample processing system comprising a pipettor, and a cartridge. The cartridge comprises a chamber which has an inlet and an outlet. The chamber contains a microarray device having an active surface. The active surface is accessible to liquid contained in the chamber. The cartridge further comprises an optical interface that provides optical access to the active surface of the microarray device, an inlet port and an outlet port. The inlet port is so configured and dimensioned that it forms an air-tight connection with a pipette tip when the pipette tip is inserted into the inlet port.

  • Patent number: 5670120
Abstract: A system for incubating sample liquids is proposed where the incubating vessels are placed into the bores of an incubator block with the aid of a rack. The rack has bores in which the incubating vessels are hanging. The bores of the rack and the ones in the incubator block are adjusted to one another so that the incubating vessels fit into the bores of the incubator block when the rack is placed onto the incubator block.
