  • Patent number: 11499237
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the anti-corrosion treatment of components produced from aluminum, in particular casting parts such as vehicle rims, comprising a pretreatment stage and subsequent coating, wherein the pretreatment stage in turn includes a pickle on the basis of sulfuric acid aqueous solutions containing water-soluble compounds of the element Ti and at least one ?-hydroxycarboxylic acid which is carried out upstream of an acidic conversion treatment on the basis of an acidic aqueous solution containing water-soluble compounds of the elements Zr and/or Ti.

  • Patent number: 11142827
Abstract: A method for anti-corrosion pre-treatment of metal substrates using zirconium-based aqueous anti-corrosion agents comprising polycyclic hydrocarbons that have at least one anellated benzene ring, each having at least two ring-substituted hydroxyl groups in ortho position to each other. The aqueous anti-corrosion agent can be substantially free both of passivating chromium-containing compounds and of fluoride-containing compounds that pickle the metal substrate. Pre-treatment by drying (dry-in-place method) is especially advantageous. Accordingly, the method according to the invention is suitable in particular for the pre-treatment of metal strip, wherein excellent anti-corrosion results are achieved on surfaces of aluminum or steel. The invention further relates to a method for producing coated can lids from aluminum strip by using the previously mentioned zirconium-based anti-corrosion agent. A further aspect comprises an aqueous concentrate for providing the ready-to-use anti-corrosion agents.

  • Publication number: 20200299518
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for providing electrically insulating and anti-corrosive coatings on electrical steel strip by using a phosphate-free aqueous dispersion. Furthermore, the invention relates to such an aqueous dispersion which is particularly suitable for providing electrically insulating and anti-corrosive coatings on electrical steel strip. The aqueous dispersion of the present invention is substantially free of phosphates and organic compounds and comprises silicates dissolved in water as an inorganic binder which forms the coating, and a mixture of oxide pigments of the elements titanium and aluminum. The subject matter of the invention also comprises a laminated electrical steel strip which is made from the electrical steel strip produced in the method according to the invention or from electrical steel strip coated with an aqueous dispersion according to the invention.
