    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for the routine analysis of samples that contain biomolecules. The invention uses biochips or arrays in the format of conventional 35 mm film slides. These film slide arrays allow employing commercially available detection, storage and processing equipment. The use of array technology is thus greatly facilitated for applications where cost of equipment and ease of handling are key factors.
