  • Patent number: 10408649
Abstract: The flow speed of a fluid (12) flowing in a conduit (14) is measured using at least one ultrasonic transducer (18a-b) that is attached to the conduit wall (22) from the outside The transducer (18a-b) has an oscillating body (34) that couples to a part region (32) of the conduit wall (22) that acts as a membrane of the ultrasonic transducer (18a-b) that can vibrate. A coupling piece (36) whose cross-section is smaller than the cross-section of the oscillating body (34) is arranged between the membrane (32) and the oscillating body (34).

  • Patent number: 6895823
Abstract: A device for measuring the flow velocity and/or the throughput of a fluid by means of ultrasound, with at least one ultrasonic transducer (16, 18) arranged on the outside of a wall (14) of a pipeline (12) and in contact with the wall (14). In order to provide an improved measurement device, with which the maintenance expense can be reduced and which has a greater measurement accuracy, a portion (32) of the wall forms a part (30) of the ultrasonic transducer.

  • Patent number: 6570295
Abstract: An ultrasound converter, especially of the axial oscillating type, with at least one piezoelectric element disposed between two tensioning segments and at least one tensioning member which prestresses the piezoelectric element via the tensioning segments. The tensioning element is a ring-shaped tensioning spring the walls of which have at least one peripheral recess.

Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasound converter, especially of the axial oscillating type, with at least one piezoelectric element disposed between two tensioning segments and at least one tensioning member which prestresses the piezoelectric element via the tensioning segments. The tensioning element is a ring-shaped tensioning spring the walls of which have at least one peripheral recess.

  • Patent number: 6253412
Abstract: The invention concerns a wiper or an exchange kit for a wiper for a windshield wiper installation for the cleaning of a windshield of a vehicle with a wiper blade that is retained on an oblong retaining structure by means of retaining claws of the retaining structure gripping the head strip of the wiper blade from the top and engaging in longitudinal grooves that are formed on opposite longitudinal sides of the head strip. An end bracket that is attached to one end of the head strip retains the wiper blade longitudinally on the retaining structure such that it cannot inadvertently get lost, while a snap-arm that is part of the end bracket traverses the correlated end claw of the retaining structure and snaps into place behind the interior front side of the end claw by means of a snap element. In order to make the exchange of a wiper blade easier, the snap-arm of the end bracket has an essentially oblong flat shape and extends flush along one longitudinal side of the head strip that is part of the wiper blade.

  • Patent number: 6202496
Abstract: A device for measuring the elastic-viscous properties of objects, in particular objects made of an elastomer material such as rubber, has a measurement body movable in relation to a holder and having a measurement head that can be set on a test object, means for moving the measurement body back and forth and means for measuring the path of displacement of the measurement head and/or the force that acts on the measurement head during the reciprocating movement of the measurement body. In order to diversify the possible uses of the device and to simplify the measurement process, the measurement body is mounted in a freely movable housing with a passage for the measurement head and a bearing surface that can be set on the test object.

  • Patent number: 5804739
Abstract: A method of determining the time point (t.sub.0) of the start of a high frequency oscillation packet triggered as a result of a corresponding external excitation which is extremely tolerant relative to systematic disturbances from various sources consists of determining the times at at least two points of the envelope curve of the oscillation packet with respect to an arbitrary zero time point. Of these two points one is a characteristic point of the envelope curve and the other has an amplitude equal to a predetermined fraction of the amplitude at the characteristic envelope curve point.
