  • Patent number: 8522598
Abstract: A control device with a valve adjusted by a control element is provided. A position sensor detects an actual position of the control element and an electro-pneumatic position controller generates a pneumatic control variable as a function of the actual and desired positions. The pneumatic control variable is supplied to the control drive via a magnetic valve activated by a supply voltage supplied by an instrumentation and control device. For carrying out a test of the magnetic valve, the magnetic valve is deactivated briefly. To initiate, monitor, and evaluate the test of the magnetic valve, the supply voltage is supplied to the magnetic valve via a controllable switch. The controllable switch is opened by a magnetic valve test signal generated by the instrumentation and control device. The magnetic valve test signal is supplied to the controllable switch via a limit switch which is opened when the control element reaches a specified position.

  • Patent number: 8262060
Abstract: An actuating device for an on/off valve having a pneumatic drive that is connected to a compressed air supply by a solenoid valve, wherein when driven with a control voltage, the solenoid valve ventilates the pneumatic drive with the compressed air and, when the control voltage is not present, vents the pneumatic drive. The pneumatic drive moves the on/off valve into an operating position during ventilation and moves it into a safety position during venting. To permit the performance of partial-stroke tests in the simplest way possible, a device for performing the partial-stroke test includes a controllable switch which is closed in a quiescent state, and in this case supplies the control voltage to the solenoid valve. The controllable switch is opened by a control signal that is generated to perform the partial-stroke test.

  • Publication number: 20100187456
Abstract: An adjustment device for an open-close valve (1) has a pneumatic drive (2) which is aerated or de-aerated according to the presence or absence of a control voltage (Vs) which can be supplied by a control system (5). The valve (1) moves into an operating position when the drive is aerated, and into a safety position when the drive is de-aerated. The valve (1) is provided with an electro-pneumatic position regulator (8) for carrying out a partial stroke test.

  • Publication number: 20100037966
Abstract: A method for checking the functionality of an actuator is provided. A control valve is adjusted by an actuating drive by a manipulating element engaging the control valve, a position encoder captures the actual position of the manipulating element, and an electro-pneumatic position controller generates a pneumatic actuating variable as a function of the actual position and a target position. The actuating variable is applied to the actuating drive by an activated magnetic valve that is deactivated to vent the actuating drive. The magnetic valve is briefly deactivated so that it may be tested, such that the manipulating element moves through only a part of its adjustment path. The magnetic valve test is evaluated as successful if the manipulating element has moved at least a prescribed minimum distance.

  • Publication number: 20040026840
Abstract: The present invention relates to a torsion spring set especially for the powertrain system of a motor vehicle, having a first internally located component (1) and a second externally located component (2) situated in such a way that it may be rotated in relation thereto, and having a spring (3) acting between the first and second component (1, 2) embodied in the form of a torsion spring, and also having a first securing device (7) for connecting a first end section (9) of the spring (3) to the first component (1) and a second securing device (8) for connecting a second end section (10) of the spring (3) to the second component (2). The spring (3) extends essentially in the direction of the periphery over at least one part of the periphery of the first component (1). At least one of the securing devices (7, 8) is embodied in such a way that the first and/or second end sections (9, 10) is/are moved in a radial direction to the second component (2) when the first component (1) is rotated.
