    Abstract: A device for anchoring a strap to a structural member has a strap and a strap anchoring member fixed to the strap at a first end of the strap. The strap anchoring member has a length and a width, wherein the length is greater than the width. The strap anchoring member is folded to provide only two layers of the strap anchoring member enclosing an end region of the strap adjacent a first end of the strap. A secured portion of the strap anchoring member is proximal the first end of the strap with both layers of the strap anchoring member fixed to the strap providing a three layer structure. An unsecured portion of the strap anchoring member is distal from the first end of the strap. A second end of the strap may be fixed to an airbag used for protecting an occupant of a motor vehicle.

    Abstract: An airbag, in particular a side airbag, has a primary chamber, which can be connected with a gas source, and at least one secondary chamber which is connected to the primary chamber. The primary chamber is inflated after the release of the airbag and used as an impact protection. The secondary chamber is designed so that, in the case of an external force due to an impact onto the primary chamber, it receives at least part of the gas contained in the primary chamber and, once the external force onto the primary chamber has been discontinued or reduced, it redirects this part of the gas into the primary chamber.

    Abstract: A side curtain airbag module is installed in a vehicle roof liner extending in a direction going between the front and rear of the vehicle. The side curtain airbag module has a gas supply device comprising a hose that is connected to a gas generator. The gas supply device extends in a longitudinal direction with respect to the module. A side curtain airbag is located laterally with respect to the gas supply device. The side curtain airbag is folded in a zigzag manner forming layers that extend essentially parallel to a direction in which the side curtain airbag is deployed when the side curtain airbag is inflated with gas. During deployment of the side curtain airbag the entire folded side curtain airbag packet is prevented from being ejected out of the side curtain airbag module at the beginning of the deployment process. An inflated side curtain airbag is provided as soon as the side curtain airbag is deployed into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A process for the production of at least one foamed layer of polyolefins comprising: polymerizing a polyolefin elastomer (POE) or polyolefin plastomer (POP) and optionally one or more additional polyolefins with a metallocene catalyst to form a polymerized polyolefin; mixing said polymerized polyolefin, up to 100 parts by weight of a mineral filling material and from 1-10 parts by weight of a chemical propellant based on 100 parts by weight of said polymerized polyolefins to form a sheet layer mixture; rolling said sheet layer mixture on a multiroller calender to produce a sheet layer; heating at least one sheet layer at a temperature above the decomposition point of the chemical propellant so as to foam the sheet layer and form at least one foamed layer. The present invention is also concerned with new coverings which are produced according to this process.
