  • Patent number: 5878861
Abstract: A vehicle gearbox has a rotatable actuator shaft having forward, neutral and reverse positions corresponding to forward, neutral and reverse operational modes of the gearbox. A control mechanism includes a first control lever operatively coupled to the actuator shaft for selecting a forward, neutral or reverse mode of the gearbox, a locking lever operable to actuate a parking lock, a second control lever coupled to the locking lever to control engagement and disengagement of the parking lock, and a device responsive to the second control lever for placing the gearbox in neutral when the parking lock is engaged. The device includes an actuator lever non-rotatably fixed to and extending radially from the actuator shaft and linkages coupled between the locking lever and the actuator lever for moving the actuator shaft into its neutral position when the parking lock is engaged.

  • Patent number: 4896740
Abstract: A wheel bearing support with an eccentric drive has a drive shaft extending through the input side bearing arrangement. A gear is provided around the internal circumference of the wheel hub, which is driven by the drive shaft via intermediate gears. Various bearing arrangements provide minimum axial length and torsional moment.

  • Patent number: 4895217
Abstract: A drive system for a four-wheel drive motor vehicle, in particular an agricultural tractor, includes a gradually lockable differential for the front wheels, a gradually lockable differential for the rear wheels, and a gradually lockable center differential in the drive to the front and rear differential gears. The degree of locking of the respective differentials is controlled by a control circuit based upon their relative rotational speeds, the steering angle and the temperature in the center differential. In an alternative embodiment, brakes on each wheel and on the shafts connecting the center differential to the front and rear differential are used to supplement or replace the differential locks.

  • Patent number: 4821834
Abstract: A mounting of a steerable wheel, in particular a driven wheel, which is carried on a front axle of an agricultural tractor, has a pivot axis which is displaced horizontally rearwardly with respect to the center of rotation of the wheel. The pivot axis is inclined to provide a positive caster. The horizontal displacement shortens the spacing between the pivot axis and the rearward end of the wheel so that the wheel can be turned to a greater extent before it strikes against the body of the motor vehicle.
