    Abstract: A key assembly for use in a lock. The key assembly includes a key shank having a toe end and a head end. The head end includes a pair of opposed spaced apart legs. An insert is disposed between the spaced apart legs, and has a pair of opposing faces. Material is overmolded onto the key shank head end and at least a portion of the insert. In one embodiment, at least a portion of at least one of the faces is not covered by the material to provide at least one surface for displaying indicia.
