Abstract: The drum brake includes: a drum configured to rotate together with a wheel; a pair of brake shoes positioned inside the drum and configured to move to an inner circumferential surface of the drum by a wheel cylinder; and a pad attached to an outer circumferential surface of each brake shoe and configured to rub against the inner circumferential surface of the drum when the brake shoe operates outward, wherein the brake shoe includes an expansion portion made of a material that expands thermally in a radial direction and configured to compensate a gap formed between the pad and the drum expanding thermally.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a caliper brake. The caliper brake according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a disc rotating together with a wheel of a vehicle; a housing including a finger formed to be bent on one side, a cylinder formed to oppose the finger on the other side, and a bridge provided between the finger and the cylinder, and provided to cover at least a part of the disc; a piston provided in the cylinder to move forward and backward to and from the finger; and a pad assembly provided in each of the finger and the cylinder to press or release both sides of the disc by moving forward and backward by the piston, and at least one of the housing, the piston, or the pad assembly is provided with a first material including wood or by combining the first material and a second material that is metal.

Abstract: The invention relates to a brake pad for a vehicle brake, comprising a back plate, an underlayer, and a friction material, stacked in this order, in a z-direction, wherein the brake pad is configured to be moved in the z-direction to be pressed against a rotating body for braking. The underlayer has an anisotropic material property, at least one material parameter having a value in the z-direction that is different from its value in a direction orthogonal to the z-direction.

Abstract: The application relates to a brake pad for a disk brake system and to a disk brake system. The proposed brake pad comprises a back plate having a front side for facing a brake disk of the disk brake system. The brake pad further comprises a friction layer arranged on the front side of the back plate for contacting a friction surface of the brake disk. Further, the brake pad comprises a pressure region that is configured to be pushed on by a brake piston or by a caliper finger of the disk brake system. The back plate and the friction layer each extend into the pressure region. The back plate has a reduced thickness in the pressure region as compared with a region of the brake pad that is not configured to be pushed on by the brake piston or caliper finger.
