  • Patent number: 6203678
Abstract: A galvanic solid electrolyte sensor for measuring gaseous anhydrides includes a ceramic solid electrolyte that has a material that conducts electrons, a measuring electrode that includes a pure or doped alkaline or alkaline earth salt and a reference electrode spatially separated from the measuring electrode and sealed off from the anhydride measuring gas by a gas-tight enclosure. The reference electrode is made of a metal material that conducts electrons. The gas-tight enclosure is made of a layer of a glass containing zirconium and lead that covers only the material of the reference electrode, with only a marginal area of this layer abutting the solid electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 5262205
Abstract: A method of producing an ion sensitive working electrode for a heavy metal ion sensor, the ion sensitive working electrode including a mixture of Ag.sub.2 S and MeS in which Me represents a heavy metal to be determined in a solution to be measured, the method including applying a conductive layer onto a substrate using at least one thick-film technique selected from the group consisting essentially of screen printing and film casting; applying a layer comprised of a plurality of juxtaposed sections on top of the conductive layer, each section of the plurality of juxtaposed sections being comprised of a mixture of Ag.sub.

  • Patent number: 5260821
Abstract: An electrochromic system. It comprises layers of solid/materials deposited on glass or another substrate. The solids function in an atmosphere that can be dry. One layer is preferably Li.sub.3 AlF.sub.6 and conducts positive lithium ions. Another layer is a counterelectrode. The counterelectrode is improved to the extent that it can reversibly accept ions from and donate them to the ion conductor while remaining extensively transparent. The counterelectrode can be Li.sub.x TiO.sub.y, (Li.sub.2 O).sub.m (WO.sub.3).sub.n (Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3), or (Li.sub.2 O).sub.m (WO.sub.3).sub.n (CeO.sub.2).sub.o.
