  • Publication number: 20090222306
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determination of the time duration (T) before a machine element (6) of a machine requires servicing, comprising the following method steps: determination of a position-related load curve (BK) of the machine element (6) on the basis of a process variable (a, r) and of a position variable (x) for a manufacturing process to be evaluated, storage of the load curve (BK) for each manufacturing process to be evaluated, determination of a summation curve (SK) by addition of the stored load curves (BK) and determination of the time duration (T) before the machine element (6) requires servicing, on the basis of a separation (A) between a predetermined limit variable (GK) and the summation curve (SK). The invention also relates to a control device (12) relating to this for the machine. The invention makes it possible to determine the time duration (T) before a machine element (6) of a machine requires servicing.

  • Patent number: 7524449
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming an absorbent core assembly containing a batt of particulate material which may be used in an absorbent article. The apparatus may include a laydown drum having a plurality of vacuum zones, a plurality of fence zones, and a plurality of blow-off zones. The vacuum zones may be substantially permeable to permit air to pass through and into the laydown drum. The fence zones may be substantially impermeable to inhibit air from passing through. The blow-off zones may be substantially permeable to permit air to pass out of and through said laydown drum. The apparatus may also include a deposition chute for depositing particulate material on a web of material in close proximity to the laydown drum. A shield may also be attached to the deposition chute in order to prevent the particles from bouncing off of the laydown drum.

  • Publication number: 20090098285
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a wad of particulate material which may be used in an absorbent article. The apparatus may include a laydown drum having a plurality of vacuum zones, a plurality of fence zones, and a plurality of blow-off zones. The plurality of vacuum zones may be substantially permeable to permit vacuum air to pass through and into the laydown drum. The plurality of fence zones may be substantially impermeable to inhibit air to pass through. The plurality of blow-off zones may be substantially permeable to permit blown air to pass out of and through said laydown drum. The apparatus may also include a deposition chute for depositing particulate material on a web of material in close proximity to the laydown drum. A shield may also be attached to the deposition chute.

  • Publication number: 20080275589
Abstract: There is described a method for operating an automation device and/or a programming system. When the automation device is in operation, a communication connection between: a) the automation device and a telecommunication device and/or b) the automation device and the internet and/or intranet can be established. The automation device is controlled and/or regulated by means of a program. The communication connection is used by means of at least one instruction in the program for the data communication during the execution of the program. It is also possible to establish a communication, in particular, within the teleprogram.

  • Publication number: 20080188971
Abstract: There is described a method for electronically operating a machine tool which comprises an electronic machine tool control and is positioned on a working place. Said machine tool is connected, through a data connection, to a server platform which is independent of the working place and on which software model algorithms run for simulating the machine tool behaviour. For this purpose, said algorithms effect back the machine behaviour in such a way that when process data items available through the data connection are deviated, process data items modified by calculated set values are transmitted through the data switch to the machine tool control and are used thereby. The machine tool control is carried out in sections, i.e. the section(s) are meaningfully considered on the basis of the software models of the machine tool behaviour remotely from the software platform.

  • Publication number: 20080125735
Abstract: An absorbent article, preferably a disposable absorbent article such as a diaper, is disclosed having an absorbent core which imparts increased wearing comfort to the article and makes it thin and dry. The absorbent core useful for an absorbent article comprises a substrate layer, a discontinuous layer of absorbent material, and a layer of thermoplastic material. A second surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material is in at least partial contact with a first surface of the substrate layer. Portions of a second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with the first surface of the substrate layer and portions of said second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with a first surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material. A process for providing a storage layer for an absorbent core useful in an absorbent article is further disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060024433
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of applying absorbent gelling material (AGM) granules by indirect printing onto an carrier layer for use in an absorbent article, particularly diaper for babies or adults, training pants, pull-up diapers (diaper pants), sanitary napkins, panty liners or the like. These articles typically comprise the carrier layer with the AGM particles together with further layers, making up the complete article.

  • Patent number: 6941048
Abstract: To provide directionally dependent attenuation for an optical information transmission link using simple means without the use of an active component, it is proposed to couple two optical waveguides (1, 2) having different core diameters to one another, the core diameter of the second fiber (2) being at least six times greater than the core diameter of the first fiber (1). In this manner, it is achieved that the conduction of light signals in a predefined direction is attenuated by at least the factor 30, while, on the other hand, the light propagating in the reverse direction, is attenuated very slightly.

  • Publication number: 20050177347
Abstract: It is to be possible to monitor manufacturing devices, in particular main spindles (1), centrally and securely. For this purpose it is provided that the respective main spindle (1) transmits operating and status data to a monitoring organization (2) over the Internet (3) for example. The data can be monitored there on the basis of limit values for example. Manufacturers (4) and OEMs (5) are preferably automatically notified if limit values are exceeded. The transmission of the operating data to the central monitoring organization (2) does not take up any of the machine's own resources for status monitoring and the manufacturers (4) are notified only if necessary. The active sending of the data from the manufacturing device or main spindle unit (1) to the monitoring organization (2) increases data security.
