Each nozzle is formed by a blower opening which is placed in a surface of the depression. The blower openings are oriented in a pattern that promotes complete and efficient paper web or sheet drying and tensioning.

    Abstract: A separating jet blast air control assembly utilizes a regulating valve to control the amount of compressed air supplied to separating and fanning blowers of a sheet feeder. A valve disc that dumps excess compressed air is biased against a valve seat by a biasing spring. The force applied by the biasing spring is adjustable in accordance with an output from a controller in response to production speed, sheet characteristics and other variables.

  • Controllable gripper assembly

    Abstract: A controllable gripper assembly utilizes spaced plates attached to transport chains. A gripper carriage is carried between the plates and is slidable with respect to the transport chain. Movement of the gripper carriage in a direction opposite to that of the transport chains will allow the sheet being transported by the gripper carriage to be released for deposit on a sheet stack with essentially no forward velocity.
