  • Patent number: 6422631
Abstract: A motor vehicle has at least one vehicle occupant seat arranged laterally of a side member. The vehicle occupant seat is arranged on seat rails which extend in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle and are fixedly connected by way of a seat underframe with a vehicle floor. The side member and the seat rail adjoining the side member have mutually assigned safety devices which are arranged at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle. The safety devices can be brought into an operative connection with one another such that the seat rail and the side member are connected by way of the safety devices during high dynamic stressing of the vehicle occupant seat and/or of the side member.

  • Patent number: 6398307
Abstract: A vehicle seat has a seat frame which is arranged in a vertically adjustable manner above a seat underframe. A backrest part is mounted on the seat frame, and a seat cushion carrying part, for adjusting the seat cushion depth, is displaceably disposed by an end area in two guides. The other end area of the seat cushion carrying part is supported by two additional guides. The additional guides are supported by way of a supporting construction past the seat frame directly on the seat underframe.

  • Patent number: 5957307
Abstract: A letter coding station for a mail sorting system. In order to ensure good ergonomics when coding letters at a coding location, letters which are to be separated and coded are brought in stacks, via a first conveying section, to the operator. The operator can thereafter feed letters individually, in the conveying direction, to a further conveying section. The first conveying section aligns the letter stacks by a lectern-like arrangement such that the top side of the letter stacks which are to be separated is aligned approximately perpendicularly with respect to the viewing direction of the operator, while the operator is oriented obliquely to the a table of the coding station. This arrangement allows for a comfortable position of both arms, and allows the operator a good view of the letters being coded.

  • Patent number: 5848682
Abstract: A sorting installation comprises a plurality of conveyed item carriers, circulating on at least one conveying mechanism, for receiving, transporting and controllably delivering the conveyed items. The conveyed item carriers are fastened by pairs on circulating transport carriages of the conveying mechanism. The transport carriages are guided by rollers on two profiles aligned at a vertical distance in relation to each other and extending in the transporting direction. The transport carriages are driven by an endlessly circulating transporting, cable. The conveying mechanism according to the invention forms, with little constructional complexity, a reliable transporting system by which the conveyed items can also be transferred to sorting containers arranged on different levels.

  • Patent number: 5718321
Abstract: The sorting apparatus includes a plurality of conveyable-article carriers (FT) which circulate on at least one conveying device (FE) and are intended for receiving, for transporting and for discharging, in a controllable manner, the conveyable articles to sorting containers (SB),the conveyable-article carriers (FT) circulating, via at least one vertical deflection of the conveying device (FE), in at least two planes (E1, E2), andthe sorting containers (SB) being provided in at least two levels (ET1, ET2) assigned to the planes (E1, E2) of the conveying device (FE). The guidance of the conveying device (FE) in at least two planes (E1, E2), and the provision of sorting containers (SB) in at least two levels (ET1, ET2) assigned to said planes (E1, E2) makes it possible, with the same surface area on which to set up the sorting apparatus, for the number of sorting containers (SB) available for sorting purposes to be doubled or multiplied.

  • Patent number: 4534534
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a vehicle seat assembly including an electrically operated seat adjusting device which permits expedient fastening of the seat assembly to a vehicle floor and which essentially consists of lockable engaging connections provided on at least one side of the seat adjusting device as the fastening mechanism between the seat adjusting device and the vehicle floor and/or between a seat shell of the seat assembly and the seat adjusting device. On the opposite side of the seat adjusting device there are provided fastening connections preferably formed as screw connections which may be tightened to lock said engaging connections for a firm fastening of the assembly. The seat adjusting device is adapted to be manually operated by an auxiliary actuating device in the event of malfunction of elements thereof such as drive motors, gear units or interconnecting flexible shafts.

  • Patent number: 4487391
Abstract: A seat adjustment mechanism especially suited for motor vehicle seats is composed of at least one motor mechanism for adjustably moving a seat member through a drive connection having at least two mutually engaging force transmission parts. In order to avoid rattling of the adjustment mechanism when adjusting movement of the seat is to be effected in a direction where the adjusting movement is abetted by the weight of the seat member itself, a braking device is provided which counteracts the adjusting force of the motor mechanism applied in that direction.

  • Patent number: 4355778
Abstract: In an adjusting device for a seat in a motor vehicle, a sliding seat guiding mechanism moves the seat in a generally horizontal direction. The guide mechanism includes an upper part secured to the seat and a support member secured to the floor of the vehicle. A rack is attached to the upper part and is driven by a pinion mounted on the support member for moving the seat in the generally horizontal direction. The rack is adjustably mounted on the upper part to permit limited movement of the rack in the generally vertical direction disposed transversely of the generally horizontal direction of movement of the seat so that proper engagement of the rack and the pinion is assured.
