  • Patent number: 4858868
Abstract: A mounting unit is disclosed and has an adjustable lockable pivot arm to which a game warning siren or the like may be attached. The mounting unit includes a slide block, a pivot arm and a base plate. The slide block comprises a pivot arm retaining means and a locking means. The pivot arm is attached to and pivots with respect to the pivot arm retaining means. Insertion of the slide block into the base plate provides a locking or clamping effect on the pivot arm thereby preventing inadvertent rotation and reorientation of the pivot arm. Advantageously, the mounting unit and game warning siren are attached to an automobile bumper or fender to warn animals in the path of the automobile of the oncoming automobile.

  • Patent number: 4527742
Abstract: In a washing appliance comprising a liquid flow-regulating and shut-off valve and a conduit pipe connected to said valve, the regulating and shut-off valve comprises an inlet fitting and an outlet fitting for the supply and discharge of liquid, respectively. Each of said fittings is provided with at least one male and/or female coupling portion and the outlet fitting may consist of a spray nozzle. In a regulating and shut-off valve in which said fittings extend at an angle to each other, the conduit pipe is provided at its ends with corresponding male or female coupling portions so that it can be selectively connected to one fitting or the other.

  • Patent number: 4437428
Abstract: A device for generating warning signals consisting of sound waves at frequencies between 14 and 26 kHz, preferably intended to be mounted on a motor vehicle so that the device will be actuated by the wind. The device operates similar to a flue pipe and generates a subatmospheric pressure behind the sharp edge of the flue pipe. The subatmospheric pressure is created by a passage continuing to a resonant chamber, open at its rear end, the passage being larger in cross-section than the resonant chamber. The passage is formed in a body which has substantially the shape of a frustum of a cone and is formed with longitudinal through slots which extend from the passage. With this design, a subatmospheric pressure is generated which excites the pipe to vibrate even in a relatively slow wind.
