    Abstract: A flame retardant composition for thermoplastic molding materials, and also moldings, fibers or films that can be prepared from the flame retardant molding materials. The composition includes 30 to 70% by weight of melamine cyanurate and of 30 to 70% by weight of porous amorphous glass particles. The composition is prepared from foam glass produced continuously in a high-temperature extruder. The sum of the components is 100% by weight.
