  • Publication number: 20240066567
Abstract: A defouling device for mechanically disrupting fouling material for removal from a pipe or other a tubular member. The defouling device has inflatable portions capable of expanding to mechanically disrupt fouling material within a pipe. The defouling device may be attached to an inner luminal surface of the pipe or formed with the pipe. The defouling device expands circumferentially and radially to mechanically disrupt fouling material. The defouling device may also controllably expand longitudinally to mechanically disrupt fouling material and peristaltically pump fouling material through and out of the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20240019674
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods can be employed to facilitate indirect viewing into cavities such as, but not limited to, the middle ear space. Some embodiments have uses such as, but not limited to, facilitating visualization and procedures in the outer, middle, and/or inner ear in order to diagnose and/or treat disorders including, but not limited to, hearing loss and other ear disorders. In particular implementations, a surgical microscope is used in conjunction with an inverter lens and a distal lens. In some cases, the distal lens transverses a membrane or septum such as, but not limited to, the tympanic membrane. The distal lens can be an assembly combining two or more lenses, in some embodiments. For example, in some cases wide angle lenses, zoom lenses, lenses of other various shapes and/or prisms can be used in the distal lens.

  • Publication number: 20210338419
Abstract: The present technology relates to modular valve replacement systems for treating valve-related cardiac disorders. In select embodiments, the modular valve replacement system includes a fixation device and a permanent valve assembly. The fixation device and the permanent valve assembly are delivered separately, enabling use of smaller delivery systems and facilitating less-invasive implant techniques. The fixation device is implanted first and provides a mounting fixture for the subsequently delivered permanent valve assembly. In some embodiments, the permanent valve assembly is at least partially mechanically isolated from the fixation device after the permanent valve assembly is attached to the fixation device. In some embodiments, the fixation device includes a temporary valve assembly that prevents regurgitation until the permanent valve assembly is implanted.

  • Publication number: 20070198077
Abstract: A self-expanding stent-graft provided in a diametrically compacted state for implantation and retained preferably by a constraining sheath, useful for the temporary or permanent repair of injured, partially or entirely transected body conduits including blood vessels. It may be used under direct visualization to quickly stop or substantially reduce loss of blood from such damaged vessels and to quickly re-establish perfusion distal to the injury site. The device would typically be implanted under emergency room conditions but also be used in field situations by trained medical technicians. After an end of the device is inserted into a blood vessel through the injury access, deployment preferably initiates from the device end in a direction moving toward the middle of the length of the device by directionally releasing the constraining sheath.
