  • Patent number: 9595077
Abstract: Large data sets are shown efficiently on a digital screen. A data set list is split up into smaller chunks with each chunk containing a number of items. Only the chunks that are within the viewable screen area are shown. As a user indicates to move up and down displayed data on a display (e.g., using a scroll bar), more chunks are loaded and stitched together with the previously shown chunk(s).

  • Patent number: 6881140
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for an HVAC system that provides air at a controllable temperature into a passenger compartment of a vehicle comprises a housing (20) defining a chamber (70). The chamber (70) has a first inlet (50) through which cold air enters the chamber and a second inlet (76) through which warm air enters the chamber. The housing (20) further includes at least one outlet (56, 58, 130, 132) in fluid communication with the chamber (70) and for directing air into the passenger compartment in the vehicle. At least one airflow diverter (90, 100) is disposed in the chamber (70) for causing a portion of the cold air flowing through the first inlet (50) to mix in the chamber with the warm air flowing through the second inlet (76).

  • Patent number: 6769480
Abstract: An apparatus (100) controls the temperature of air flow from a temperature control system (10) The apparatus (100) includes a blend door (150), an output gear (140), and a biasing mechanism (124) The biasing mechanism (124) facilitates rotation of the output gear (140) in a first rotation direction (136) and impedes rotation of the output gear (140) in a second rotation direction (138) opposite the first rotation direction (136) This results in the torque necessary to rotate the output gear (140) in the first rotation direction (136) being substantially equal to the torque necessary to rotate the output gear (140) in the second rotation direction (138).

  • Patent number: 6695691
Abstract: A door assembly (30) for a vehicle HVAC system comprises a shaft (140) made of a first material and having an axis (144) of rotation. A first door (142) projects from the first shaft (140) and is made of the first material. The first door (142) is molded together with the shaft (140). A sleeve (150) is made of a second material that has a lower melting point than the first material to enable the sleeve to be molded over the shaft (140). The sleeve (150) is disposed coaxially about the shaft (140) and is rotatable about the axis (144) relative to the shaft. A second door (152) projects from the sleeve (150). The second door (152) is made of the second material and is molded together with the sleeve (150). The second door (152) is rotatable relative to the first door (142).

  • Publication number: 20030047306
Abstract: An apparatus (100) controls a temperature of air flow from a temperature control system (10). The apparatus (100) includes a blend door (150), an output gear (140), and a biasing mechanism (124). The blend door (150) blocks air flow and has a plurality of positions, each blocking different amounts of air flow. The blend door (150) is rotatable about a first axis (142) between each of the plurality of positions. The output gear (140) is secured to the blend door (150) and is rotatable about the first axis (142) to rotate the blend door (150) between each of the plurality of positions.

  • Patent number: 6374696
Abstract: A detent assembly (30) includes a rotatable index member (34) having a series (44) of minor index positions (46) disposed in a circular array and a series (52) of major index positions (54) disposed in a circular array which is axially offset from the circular array of minor index positions. A plurality of first spring sections (124) are integrally formed as one piece with a housing (32) which encloses the index member (34). The first spring sections (124) are disposed in a circular array which extends around the index member (34). Each of the first spring sections (124) is disposed in engagement with the series (44) of minor index positions (46). A second spring section (66) is integrally formed as one piece with the housing and is disposed in engagement with the series (52) of major index positions (54). A stem (40) extends axially from one end of the index member (34) and is engageable by a handle.

  • Patent number: 6224480
Abstract: An assembly 10 for controlling the temperature of air flowing into the passenger compartment of a vehicle has a frame 20, an arcuate door 40, and an actuation assembly 50. The frame 20 defines an opening 21 through which air flows into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The frame 20 also includes opposite arcuate tracks 25, 26. The arcuate door 40 moves to control airflow through the opening 21 and has side edges 41, 42 which are slidably received in the opposite arcuate tracks 25, 26. The arcuate door 40 and the opposite arcuate tracks 25, 26 maintain the same center of curvature during the sliding of the arcuate door 40 in the opposite arcuate tracks 25, 26. The actuation assembly 50 moves the arcuate door 40 along the opposite arcuate tracks 25, 26.
