  • Patent number: 7783987
Abstract: In order to provide for efficient security of a remote presentation (such as a remote display) on a client which presents user interface data from a remote server, all requests for action to be performed on the client are examined to determine if they are requests for user interface (UI) presentation. If the request is for UI presentation, it is verified to ensure that the request is valid—e.g., that it comes from an approved source. If the request is a valid UI request, then the request is served. If a UI request cannot be verified, the request is served, if possible, without presenting the user interface data from the request—e.g., by hiding visual data, or playing audio data at zero or minimal volume. Otherwise, the request is not serviced and the connection from the client to the server may be terminated.

  • Publication number: 20040253969
Abstract: A method for connecting a client device to a host device over a wireless connection is directed to a client device such as a Smart Display. The client device receives an identifier and parses the identifier to retrieve embedded configuration information. The identifier follows a protocol limiting the identifier to providing only a network name, such as IEEE 802.11x. The embedded configuration information assists in establishing communications between the client device and the host device because the embedded configuration information can be used to identify the host. If the identifier is a service set identifier (SSID) described by an IEEE 802.1x protocol, the embedded configuration information can identify a TCP/IP address. The method includes comparing bytes of the received identifier with a stored identifier to determine a match. If a match is found, received identifier can be parsed for data for determining model type, a manufacturer identifier and a device type.

  • Patent number: 6535650
Abstract: A digital imaging system includes a camera to capture a plurality of images representing a scene. A program is executable on the processor to align the images with respect to a reference image and to combine the images into a composite image that represents the scene. The camera may include a low resolution camera, and the composite image may be a high resolution, digitized image.

  • Patent number: 6374278
Abstract: A digital platform comprises a peripheral and a processing unit. The peripheral produces noise source data that is used by the processing unit to produce a statistically random data stream. In particular, a run-length coding scheme is performed on digitally sampled noise source data to produce a plurality of runs, each run having a count and a pattern value. Then, an intermediary data stream based on the count of each run of the plurality of runs is formed. An anti-biasing scheme is performed on the intermediary data stream to remove bias and produce a statistically random data stream.
