  • Publication number: 20230376803
Abstract: A system receives identification of a machine learning model, stored by a vehicle, that is ready for training. The system determines, based on a configuration file associated with the model, whether batch-based or live training is to be used to train the model and collects data for training, defined by a configuration file associated with the model. The system calls a learning as a service vehicle process to load a kernel and configures the kernel based on configuration data defined in the configuration file. The system receives notification from the learning as a service process that the training is complete. Additionally, the system validates a model, responsive to the notification including indication that training was successful, using a vehicle model validation process to test the model with live data before deployment by background execution of the model and saves a copy of the model for deployment responsive to successful validation.

  • Publication number: 20230376805
Abstract: A system receives identification of data to be gathered, via a request configured based on a configuration file associated with a machine learning model stored by a vehicle. The system receives identification of how the data is to be labeled, defined by the configuration file and create one or more topics for publication of the data, onboard the vehicle, the publication including both the gathered data and any meta-data usable to label the data in accordance with the definitions in the configuration file. Also, the system subscribes to the topics to receive the published data and the metadata and appends labels to the data, using the metadata, to label the data in accordance with the definitions for labeling in the configuration file. The system saves the labeled data in vehicle memory as data associated with the model.

  • Publication number: 20230376804
Abstract: A vehicle system receives indication of a newly trained machine learning model designated for validation. The system load a copy of the model into shadow execution hardware, capable of background execution of the model and subscribes to one or more data topics to which input data for the model, gathered by a vehicle data gathering process, is published. The system executes the model in the background as the vehicle travels, using data published to the data topics and benchmarks output from the model to determine whether the model outperforms a prior version of the model, that represents the model prior to the model being newly trained, based on relative performance of both models compared to performance expectations defined in a configuration file stored by the vehicle. Also, the system, responsive to the model outperforming the prior version of the model based on the performance expectations defined by the configuration file, validates the model as suitable for deployment.

  • Patent number: 8347262
Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium and system are described for deriving a schematic diagram representative of an integrated circuit (1C) comprising a plurality of circuit elements. In general, the method, computer-readable medium and system are configured to receive as input a working schematic diagram identifying at least some of the circuit elements, and at least one existing schematic diagram from one or more libraries thereof. Based on this input, at least a portion of the working schematic diagram that matches at least a portion of the at least one existing schematic diagram is identified and replaced, thereby forming a revised schematic diagram.

Strength training machine coupled with the VGS and acts as a game controller. The machine provides resistance by an electrical motor. Resistance can be adjusted using data send from the VGS. Further, the resistance can pulsate during an exercise motion, providing internal muscle massage. The video gaming system uses a non-contact method to monitor a physiological parameter of the user. For example, a video camera is used to detect heart rate. Pose tracking information is used to detect the level of user exhaustion. Those and other monitored parameters are used to adjust the regime for either current or future exercises. The regime is optimized to increase workout efficiency. An activity not directly related to exercise, for example game, is unlocked if exercise performance is on track.

  • Patent number: 8219940
Abstract: A method and apparatus to reduce occurrences of electrically non-functional elements, known as dummy features, from a source data structure is described. The source data structure may be image data, a vector based data structure or some other data format. Dummy features in the source data structure are detected and then deleted. Dummy features may be detected by selecting a representative dummy feature, using it as a reference pattern or polygon and comparing it to features in the source data structure. The step of comparing the selected reference to the comprises selecting a cut-off correlation threshold value, and computing the correlation coefficients between the reference and the feature. Features are selectively removed based on a comparison between their correlation coefficients and the selected cut-off correlation threshold value. This threshold value may require updating to remove all dummy features in the source data structure.

  • Patent number: 8051395
Abstract: The present invention seeks to provide a simple, but novel regime, for re-labelling swappable pins that permits swappability information to be maintained without significantly increasing computational complexity and is conducive to inexact pattern matching for the purposes of developing more complex logical processing blocks from elementary components in design analysis. The method comprises a recursive application of a simple labelling procedure. This method is repeated recursively until all gate instances in the circuit fragment have been assigned a swappability number.

  • Patent number: 7967728
Abstract: Wireless game controller can provide variable resistance during strength training exercise and is coupled with off the shelf video gaming system such as Nintendo WII or personal computer by bluetooth or WiFI connection. The resistance is provided by a motor/generator. Electrical recuperation occurs between eccentric and concentric steps of the exercise, electrical energy is stored in a super capacitor between the steps. Video gaming system is configurable to run exercise software that provide reinforcing game experience, coaching, and physical therapy to the user. Exercise software tracks user's pose using fiduciary marks on the controller and data from 3d accelerometer embedded in the controller. The resistance is computed as a function of one or more the following: exercise type, position, velocity, user profile, and repetition number.

  • Publication number: 20110125337
Abstract: An electrical appliance with reduced operating costs is described. The appliance incorporates electrical storage which is charged from the grid during periods of low electricity pricing and discharged during periods of high pricing. Storage cycles are engineered to minimize energy losses and reduce appliance operating costs. Energy losses are minimized by only charging the storage to a portion of full capacity and only discharging to a specified value. In one embodiment the storage consists of a battery and a capacitor. The capacitor provides additional current during high demand intervals. In another embodiment the external supply provides this. Storage lifetime is improved by maintenance cycles. The appliance computes the cost of an operation for multiple scenarios and either selects the optimal scenario or allows user selection. The appliance can communicate with a home energy server to manage multiple appliances and communicate with ancillary grid services.

  • Patent number: 7693348
Abstract: A method of registering and vertically aligning multiply-layered images into a mosaic is described. The method comprises performing an iterative process of vertical alignment of layers into a mosaic using a series of defined alignment correspondence pairs and global registration of images in a layer using a series of defined registration correspondence points and then redefining the identified alignment correspondence pairs and/or registration correspondence points until a satisfactory result is obtained. Optionally, an initial global registration of each layer could be performed initially before commencing the alignment process. The quality of the result could be determined using a least squares error minimization or other technique.
