  • Publication number: 20190254112
Abstract: Techniques described herein may allow for the granting and revoking of temporary access, for User Equipment (“UE”) devices, to a wireless network. Multiple UEs may be registered with a group, where only a limited quantity of UEs in the group may be active at a given time. Once granted access, a UE device may have limits on the access, such as a maximum duration and/or a data limit. When a particular UE device, in a group, requests access to the network, a Group Device Authentication Server (“GDAS”) may determine whether to grant the access, based on how many other UEs in the group (if any) currently have access. The GDAS may also revoke the access once granted (e.g., once the maximum duration has been reached).

  • Patent number: 10299094
Abstract: Systems described herein ensure authorized communications between application servers and machine-type communications (MTC) devices. The systems store a subscriber profile for an MTC device, the subscriber profile including application server (AS) configuration information designating application servers that are authorized to connect with the MTC device. The systems receive a non-IP data delivery (NIDD) registration request from an application server, wherein the NIDD registration request includes an identifier for the MTC device. The systems obtain, from the application server, a first identifier for the application server, and retrieve, based on the NIDD registration request, the AS configuration information from the subscriber profile.

  • Patent number: 10108910
Abstract: Parking guidance is provided to a user of a mobile device requesting information on parking spots at a requested location for a requested time. In response to receiving a parking information request, parking spots having locations proximate to the requested location and having availability at the requested time are identified in a database of parking spot information of a parking management server. A notification of the identified parking spots is transmitted to the user device from which the information request was received. In response to receiving a reservation request identifying a parking spot to be reserved from the user device, the database is updated to identify the identified parking spot as being unavailable at the requested time. Additionally, a notification of the reservation request is transmitted to a parking manager associated with the identified parking spot, the notification identifying the particular parking spot and the requested time.

  • Patent number: 10028246
Abstract: Femtocells are often used to extend the coverage of wireless telecommunication networks, but do not typically incorporate mechanisms that allow their location to be easily ascertained. As described herein, a system may determine the locations of femtocells, based on the locations of user devices that attach to, detach from, handover between, and/or detect the femtocells. A map (such as a three-dimensional map) may be generated based on the determined locations of femtocells. The locations of femtocells may be used, for example, in emergency broadcast situations, in order to ensure that messages are distributed as completely as possible in a given region.

  • Patent number: 9996550
Abstract: A server may be configured to receive behavior information associated with a user device. The behavior information may indicate a set of geographical locations at which the user device has been present. The server may generate a mode based on the behavior information. The mode may indicate a set of conditions based on which the mode is to be activated, and a set of information to be presented when the mode is activated. The server may output the mode to the user device. The user device may determine, after receiving the mode, that the set of conditions has been satisfied. The determining may be based on a geographical location of the user device. The user device may activate the mode, based on determining that the set of conditions has been satisfied; and may present at least a portion of the set of information, based on activating the mode.

  • Patent number: 9930037
Abstract: A system may receive a content request associated with a user device. The content request may include information that identifies a subscriber associated with the user device and information that identifies a content provider associated with the content request. The system may determine a unique identification header (UIDH), associated with the subscriber, based on the content request. The system may determine randomized information associated with encrypting the UIDH. The system may encrypt the UIDH to create a transactional identifier. The UIDH may be encrypted based on the randomized information and a shared key. The system may insert the transactional identifier and the randomized information in the content request to create a modified content request. The system may provide the modified content request including the transactional identifier and the randomized information.

  • Patent number: 9548993
Abstract: A security device may be configured to receive information regarding traffic that has been outputted by a particular user device; and compare the information regarding the traffic to security information. The security information may include device behavior information, traffic policy information, or device policy information. The security device may determine, based on the comparing, that a security threat exists with regard to the traffic; and take, based on determining that the security threat exists, remedial action with respect to the traffic. Taking the remedial action may include preventing the traffic from being forwarded to an intended destination associated with the traffic, providing an alert, regarding the security threat, to the particular user device, or providing an alert, regarding to the security threat, to another device.

  • Patent number: 9544944
Abstract: A server may be configured to receive an indication that a first user device stores a particular content item; receive, from a second user device, a request for content; and determine that the requested content is available from the first user device. The determining may include determining that the particular content item stored by the first user device corresponds to the request for content, and determining that a local peer connection is available between the first user device and the second user device. The server may further output, to the first user device, an instruction to output the requested content to the second user device via the local peer connection, and/or the server may output, to the second user device, information which may allow the second user device to request the content from the first user device via a local peer connection.
