  • Patent number: 10595952
Abstract: A method of selecting an instrument set for an orthopedic implant procedure. The method utilizes a computer programmed with a data structure configured to store (i) a set of implant components and implant instruments; and (ii) a set of surgical instruments utilized in performing the procedure. The method selects a sub-set of implant components and implant instruments based upon a determination of component types and then selects a sub-set of surgical instruments based upon a determination of surgical techniques. The method arranges the sub-set of surgical instruments and implant instruments into a substantially specific order based upon a determination of a sequence of bone cuts to be performed in the procedure.

  • Patent number: 9394070
Abstract: A system for packaging unit doses of medication. One pill packaging system comprises a feeding assembly, a pill packaging assembly, and a pill guide. The pill guide may be positioned between the feeding assembly and packaging assembly and comprise a body having inlet and outlet apertures, whereby a pill traveling through the pill guide exits the outlet aperture oriented such that a leading edge of the pill points toward one side of the pill package and the trailing edge of the pill is inclined toward an opposite side of the pill package. Another pill packaging system comprises a pill feeding assembly comprising a pill disk with circumferentially positioned pill slots, a pill packaging assembly, and a sensor, such as a camera, to determine whether more than one pill is positioned in a pill slot on the pill disk.

  • Publication number: 20150196459
Abstract: A pill conveying apparatus including a housing with a pill discharge aperture. A vacuum drum positioned at least partially within the housing, and the vacuum drum includes (i) a drum face having a primary surface; (ii) a plurality of pill apertures formed in the drum face, and (iii) at least one secondary surface formed on the drum face, the secondary surface varying in elevation relative to the primary surface. A vacuum source draws a vacuum through the pill apertures in the vacuum drum and a torque source is operatively connected to the vacuum drum in order to rotate the vacuum drum. A pill shelf positioned adjacent to the drum face and a pill removal arm inhibits multiple pills from being retained on a pill aperture by the vacuum source. A pill sensor is positioned on the apparatus to detect pills which will exit the discharge aperture.

  • Patent number: 7650732
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-readable storage medium containing computer executable code for instructing a computer to first display a field selection screen which includes selection indicators for a plurality of label fields. Then there is displayed a field content screen responsive to the label fields previously selected with the field content screen allowing editing of at least one label field. A bar code corresponding with one of said label fields is then selected and a print preview screen containing a plurality of said label fields is displayed. Then a print command for printing a label substantially as displayed on the print preview screen and including the bar code (regardless of whether or not said bar code is included on said print preview screen) is transmitted.
