Patent number: 10802937Abstract: Methods and systems for network intrusion detection at higher order OSI layers of the network using machine learning can include the initial step of reformatting data packets that are being transmitted between two access points on the monitored network from an OSI lower level TCP/IP data packets format into an OSI Session layer or above format at a reformatting module, to yield a conversation dataset of high order conversations. The methods and systems can also include the steps of training a machine learning module using the OSI Session layer-formatted conversation dataset, and classifying the network activity as either normal or abnormal network activity using the trained machine learning module. For some embodiments and systems, the step of inspecting the TCP/IP data packet content with a rules-based module and using rules-based criteria, can be included for additional security.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2019Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignee: United States of America as Represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventor: Ralph W. Patent number: 6681358Abstract: A multiport BIST method and apparatus therefor are disclosed. The multiport BIST is advantageously based on adapting a single port BIST method by dividing the memory into sections based on the number of ports and applying the single port BIST simultaneously through all ports simultaneously (inverting where appropriate), so as to test the sections in parallel. In one embodiment of the invention, an integrated circuit device comprises a multiport memory and a built-in self-test (BIST) unit that applies a first test pattern of read and write operations to a first port of the memory and applies a second test pattern of read and write operations to a second port of the memory. The addresses in the first test pattern are offset from addresses in the second test pattern by a fixed amount. The ports preferably have adjacent bit lines, and the data values conveyed by the first and second test patterns are preferably complementary.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2000Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignee: LSI Logic CorporationInventors: Farzin Karimi, Thompson W. Patent number: 6671842Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for asynchronous testing of multiport memories. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a built-in self-test (BIST) unit coupled to a multiport memory module and configured to apply a pattern of read and write test operations concurrently to multiple ports of the memory. The pattern of test operations may be any standard or customized pattern designed to establish the functionality of the multiport memory. The test operations to different ports are clocked by different clock signals so that the clock signals may be offset relative to each other by an adjustable or preset clock skew. Certain clock skews cause transitions to occur on signal lines in the memory array at the most sensitive portion(s) of a read cycle. The timing of these transitions, in combination with the presence of high-resistivity bridge faults, sufficiently disturbs the read cycle so as to cause a read error, thereby enabling detection of the bridge faults.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1999Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: LSI Logic CorporationInventors: Tuan Phan, Thompson W. Patent number: 6574762Abstract: An integrated circuit device is disclosed having a boundary scan chain and a hardwired BIST unit that is configurable via the control circuitry for the boundary scan chain. In one embodiment, the device includes application logic, a BIST unit, a boundary scan chain, a register, and a test access port. The application logic is the logic that provides the intended function of the chip. The BIST unit is configured to apply test patterns to the application logic to verify its functionality. The boundary scan chain is configured to sample input signals to the application logic and to control output signals from the application logic. The register stores an operational mode parameter for the BIST. The test access port provides external access to the boundary scan chain and the register, and is configured to control a clock signal to the BIST unit in accordance with the BIST operational mode parameter.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2000Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: LSI Logic CorporationInventors: Farzin Karimi, Thompson W. Patent number: 5933192Abstract: A multi-channel digital video receiver (e.g. DBS) includes a tuning unit with two tuner modules and a decoder unit with two decoder modules. These tuner and decoder units enable the receiver to simultaneously produce decoded video and audio signals for two separately-tuned channels. The signals for the channel currently selected by the user are tuned and decoded by one set of tuner and decoder modules. The decoded signals for the selected channel are sent to an output stage (e.g. encoder), where the signals and their output are encoded for use on an attached presentation device (e.g. television, audio processor, computer, etc.) Simultaneously, a microcontroller predicts the next channel the user will select and causes the other tuner and decoder modules to begin tuning to and decoding the signals for that predicted next channel. A third set of tuner and decoder modules can be added to enable the receiver to begin tuning to and decoding the signals for another likely next channel.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1997Date of Patent: August 3, 1999Assignee: Hughes Electronics CorporationInventors: Jeffrey W. Crosby, Michael A. Friedman

Patent number: 5903237Abstract: A method and system for pointing a receiver antenna is described herein. The method includes providing an indicator, receiving a signal at the antenna over a series of positions throughout which the antenna is moved, measuring a signal strength of the signal at each position, and causing the indicator to emit an indication signal that reflects the signal strength at each position. The frequency of the indication signal preferably varies non-linearly to the signal strengths, and the difference between successive indication signal frequencies increases as said signal strength increases in order to allow an installer to more effectively perceive the variations in the frequency of the indication signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1995Date of Patent: May 11, 1999Assignee: Hughes Electronics CorporationInventors: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 5005508Abstract: An improved anchor assembly of the Danforth type. The crown is formed from a single piece of rectangular tubing by a pressing operation to form a crown having two parallel inwardly disposed sidewalls and, at generally right angles thereto, two sidewalls which extend towards each other in a forward direction. Right-hand and left-hand flukes are each formed from a single piece of metal plate material and have a triangular plate portion and flange portion which extends to either side of the plate portion at right angles thereto. Extensions of the flange are welded to the parallel sidewalls of the crown box. The rear end of a shank, which is formed from square bar stock, is disposed within the crown box with an aperture in the shank being in alignment with corresponding apertures in the flange extensions of the flukes and the parallel sidewalls of the crown box. A stock is inserted through the apertures so that the shank can pivot about an intermediate portion of the stock.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1989Date of Patent: April 9, 1991Assignee: The Crosby CompanyInventors: Peter W. Patent number: 4857020Abstract: A tap connector for establishing and maintaining an electrical connection between electrical conductors. The connector has a body whereof the sides define a channel which slidably receives a laterally expandible and contractable wedge assembly. In use, the conductors are rigidly held between the body and the expanded wedge assembly. To produce the required expansion, the wedge assembly comprises at least one driven block and at least one driving block which mate along respective opposed ramp surfaces inclined to the longitudinal axis of the channel. Relative longitudinal movement of the blocks causes the wedge assembly to expand and contract as required.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1988Date of Patent: August 15, 1989Assignee: Tridem Manufactured Products Inc.Inventor: Nobel W.
