  • Publication number: 20110239349
Abstract: A protective gown with a tubular overlay, or tube, on each gown sleeve attached on one end at the user's forearm as the tube extends toward the upper arm as a surgical glove is donned and the gown sleeve is tucked within the glove cuff. The tube then extends downward toward the sleeve end and over the glove cuff forming a channel in which the glove cuff is positioned and retained. The tube is secured to the glove from within the tube as it engages the glove cuff. Areas of increased frictional resistance may be added to the tube underside to engage the glove cuff secondary surface as the sleeve is tucked within the glove cuff. Increased frictional resistance may be obtained by employing strips or a coating with a low tack surface.

  • Patent number: 8021516
Abstract: A water-soluble interjacent complex that includes a first water-soluble polymer and one or more water-soluble monomers polymerized to form a second water-soluble polymer in the presence of the first water-soluble polymer. The water-soluble interjacent complex forms a solution in water that is free of insoluble polymer particles. The interjacent complexes may be used to treat a waste sludge by adding an effective amount thereof to the waste sludge. The interjacent complexes may also be used in making paper by adding an effective amount thereof to a pulp or a forming sheet at a suitable location on a paper making machine. The interjacent complexes may further be used as a rheology modifier in aqueous systems by adding an effective amount thereof to an aqueous medium to effect a desired viscosity, rheology, or flow curve property.

  • Patent number: 7943808
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the manufacture of acetylene and other higher hydrocarbons from methane feed using a reverse-flow reactor system, wherein the reactor system includes (i) a first reactor and (ii) a second reactor, the first and second reactors oriented in a series relationship with respect to each other, the process comprising supplying each of first and second reactant through separate channels in the first reactor bed of a reverse-flow reactor such that both of the first and second reactants serve to quench the first reactor bed, without the first and second reactants substantially reacting with each other until reaching the core of the reactor system.

  • Patent number: 7846401
Abstract: The overall efficiency of a regenerative bed reverse flow reactor system is increased where the location of the exothermic reaction used for regeneration is suitably controlled. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling the combustion to improve the thermal efficiency of bed regeneration in a cyclic reaction/regeneration processes. The process for thermal regeneration of a regenerative reactor bed entails (a) supplying the first reactant through a first channel means in a first regenerative bed and supplying at least a second reactant through a second channel means in the first regenerative bed, (b) combining said first and second reactants by a gas mixing means situated at an exit of the first regenerative bed and reacting the combined gas to produce a heated reaction product, (c) passing the heated reaction product through a second regenerative bed thereby transferring heat from the reaction product to the second regenerative bed.

  • Patent number: 7834772
Abstract: A monitoring system for monitoring an air-conditioner may include a pressure sensor for detecting the pressure of the fluid of the air-conditioner, a power sensor for detecting the presence of supply voltage supplied to the air-conditioner and applied voltage which is applied to the air-conditioner, an activation device to activate an alarm based upon the detection of the pressure from the pressure sensor, the detection of the supply voltage to the air-conditioner and the detection of the applied voltage to the air-conditioner. The activation device may be activated based only on the loss of pressure detected by the pressure sensor, and the activation device may not be activated if the supplied voltage is detected. The activation device may be activated when both the supplied voltage is detected and the applied voltage is not detected, and the activation device may be connected to a disconnect switch to detect the supplied voltage.
