  • Patent number: 10913239
Abstract: One example includes a repair assembly that is comprised of a composite patch, an adhesive, and a veil. The adhesive is disposed between a composite structure that includes an anomaly to be repaired and the composite patch and the composite patch. The veil is disposed between the composite structure and the composite patch. The veil generates heat in response to electric power being applied to the veil, with the adhesive being cured with the heat generated with the veil to repair the composite structure including the anomaly.

  • Publication number: 20080021654
Abstract: Data from a string of multiple formation evaluation data sensor are evaluated by an expert system. Based on the analysis, the logging speed is increased if all the sensors justify it, and is reduced if any of the sensors require a reduced logging speed. Alternatively, the sensitive volume of a NMR sensor is altered based on a determination of a fraction of the sensitive volume that includes a borehole fluid. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20070145259
Abstract: Measurements made with a nuclear logging tool are partitioned into bins to provide an energy spectrum. The energy spectrum is calibrated by maximizing a measure of similarity with a reference spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20060243898
Abstract: A pulsed neutron source is used in a density logging tool with three or more detectors. This enables compensation for source variations and provides redundant measurements that are used to make borehole corrections and/or corrections for casing.

  • Publication number: 20050226098
Abstract: The logging tool of this invention includes a segmented transmitter and a plurality of segmented receivers. The transmitter is operable in monopole, dipole or quadrupole modes. The received signals are analyzed, and based on the results of the analysis, one or more operating parameters of the transmitter are altered to improve data quality and/or logging speed.

  • Publication number: 20050121606
Abstract: Data acquired using a pulsed nuclear source are susceptible to two sources of error. One error is due to large statistical noise towards the end of an acquisition window. Another source of error is the contamination of the early portion of the data by borehole and other effects. The beginning of the processing window is adjusted based on the signal level at the end of the processing window for the preceding pulsing of the source. The end of the processing window is derived from statistical considerations.

  • Patent number: 5731015
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing a composite article comprising an autoclave having a platen, a work tool located in the autoclave and supported by the platen, and a composite article on the work tool. The platen is heated to transfer heat from the platen to the work tool and from the work tool to the composite article to cure that article; and a heat conductive, flexible mat is positioned between the platen and the work tool to maintain a desired thermal conductivity between the platen and the work tool as the work tool is heated.

  • Patent number: 5487864
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a composite article. The method comprises the step of providing an autoclave having a platen, applying a composite article onto a work tool, and positioning the work tool on the platen. The platen is heated to transfer heat from the platen to the work tool and from the work tool to the composite article to cure that article; and a heat conductive, flexible mat is positioned between the platen and the work tool to maintain a desired thermal conductivity between the platen and the work tool during the heating step.

  • Patent number: 5132900
Abstract: A method and apparatus for limiting manipulation of individual documents within a multi-document relationship in accordance with a plurality of user specified preferences. A user preference object is created and utilized to store a plurality of user specified preferences for selected documents or for all documents which contain a selected attribute. Thereafter, any attempted manipulation, such as transmission, copying or deleting, of a document within the multi-document relationship will be limited in accordance with the stored preferences within the user preference object. In this manner, a distribution service may relay and distribute a selected document which might not normally be distributed due to incompatible characteristics of other documents which exist in a relationship with the selected document.
