Abstract: A method for conditioning a network based encoded video stream including receiving the video stream over an RF data link, detecting any missing and/or corrupted data within the data stream, and inserting curative data in place of the missing or corrupted data. A system and method for transmitting a real-time video stream to an end-user at least partially over an RF data link including the video conditioner wherein a camera obtains video footage, an encoder to compresses the video stream, an RF transmitter transmits the encoded video stream over an RF data link, and an RF receiver to receives the encoded video stream from the RF transmitter. The video stream is conditioned by the video conditioner and routed to an end user through a computer network wherein a decoder decodes the encoded video stream and the video stream is viewed on a display.

Abstract: Methods and terminals can use Internet Protocol (IP) packets for waveform independent contention access in a hub-spoke network. In some embodiments, a spoke terminal can transmit a link allocation packet on an uplink when the uplink is available and the spoke terminal has data to transmit. The link allocation packet can be embedded within an IP packet. When the spoke terminal receives the link allocation packet on the downlink, the spoke terminal can transmit one or more IP packets with data, followed by a link release packet. The link release packet can be embedded within an IP packet.

Abstract: A method of distributing a computer program module is provided. The method includes providing a computer program component and an installation module. The computer program component includes code defining functionality specifically associated with the module and excludes version identification data which is required for the module to execute the functionality under command from a master computer program. The installation module, when run on a computer, obtains the version identification data from the master computer program and combines the version identification data and the computer program component to define the computer program module. The invention extends to a computer program product.
