  • Publication number: 20180118407
Abstract: Disclosed herein are tape opening systems, containers, and methods to produce display-ready containers formed of paper-based substrates. The clean tear openings of the disclosed containers are accomplished through novel incorporations of monoaxiaily oriented films with directional tear properties. Also disclosed are closure and opening systems for multi-wall and polywoven pinch bottom open mouth bags using same monoaxially tearable films.

  • Patent number: 7934675
Abstract: An apparatus and method for splicing tapes dispensed from a tape dispenser. According to one embodiment, a first, running or unwinding roll of tape is provided with a first splicing element secured to its trailing end portion. A second, stationary or standby roll of tape is provided with a second splicing element secured to its leading end portion. The second splicing element comprises a body made of a self-supporting material and formed with at least one aperture sized to receive the tape from the first roll. While tape is being dispensed from the first roll, the running tape is inserted into the aperture of the second splicing element. When the first roll of tape becomes depleted, the first splicing element engages the second splicing element, thereby splicing the leading end portion of the second tape roll to the trailing end portion of the first tape roll.

  • Publication number: 20050041408
Abstract: A receiver designed to receive and engage an interchangeable test adapter (ITA) such that electrical contacts carried by the ITA and receiver are releasably engaged. The receiver includes sliding cam plates driven by a lever assembly and adjacent sliding hanger structures that are retractable. The sliding hanger structures are biased to extend forwardly, and are mounted within hanger slide retaining structures that define forward stops. When an ITA is to be engaged with the receiver, roller pins of the ITA are placed in the hangers such that they also extend into the adjacent sliding cam plates. When the user actuates the lever, the cam plates force the ITA to move inwardly, into engagement. The motion of the cam plates also forces the hanger structures to slide inwardly, such that they are flush with the face of the receiver.
