  • Patent number: 10195836
Abstract: Provided are splices comprising honeycomb cores and adhesive layers with tie clips supporting the honeycomb cores. Also provided are methods of forming such splices. Each tie clip includes two legs and a bridging portion joining the legs. When forming a splice, an adhesive layer is positioned between two honeycomb cores. One leg of the tie clip is inserted into the full cell of one honeycomb core, while the other leg is inserted into the full cell of the other honeycomb core. The bridging portion extends across the adhesive layer. While curing the adhesive layer, the tie clip supports the honeycomb cores with respect to each other and maintains their orientation. The tie clip becomes a part of the splice. The tie clip may be buried in the honeycomb cores without extending above the first face of the splice.

  • Publication number: 20190017809
Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient and accurate inspection of tubular goods are disclosed. Inner and outer diameter measurements of a tubular good along the entire length are obtained using laser or other light measurement systems. Discrete sections of a tubular good can be identified. For each section, at least one measurement of an outer diameter of an outside surface of the discrete section, and at least one measurement of an inner diameter of an inside surface of the discrete section are obtained. In addition, a geometric center coordinate for each discrete section of the tubular good is obtained. The measurements defining the outside surface, inside surface, and geometric center in association with the longitudinal position of each discrete section are recorded.

  • Patent number: 10145972
Abstract: Many embodiments provide a hybrid data processing system (HySDS) of an end-to-end geodetic imaging data system enabling near-real-time science, assessment, response, and rapid recovery. The HySDS may be an operation data processing system that integrates data from many different geodetic data sources and/or sensors, including interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), GPS, pixel tracking, seismology, and/or modeling, and processes the data to generate actionable high quality science data products. The HySDS may provide for an automated imaging and analysis capabilities that is able to handle the imminent increases in raw data from new and existing geodetic monitoring sensor systems.

  • Patent number: 10126249
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for waste object detection. For example, a waste alert component is configured to emit ultraviolet light towards a waste detection zone, such as a bathroom floor or countertop. If a waste object, such as a paper towel or other object with a fluoresce property, exists within the waste detection zone, then the waste alert component may detect an increase in light due to the waste object fluorescing visible light in response to the ultraviolet light. If the increase in light intensity exceeds a detection threshold, then the waste alert component may provide a waste detection alert that the waste object exists within the waste detection zone (e.g., a message may be sent to a housekeeper that paper towel waste in on the bathroom countertop).

  • Patent number: 10067973
Abstract: A method and apparatus for collection and analysis of oil rig activity is described. The method includes collecting wellsite data from a plurality of sources, including real-time data sources and macroscopic reports. In certain embodiments, the collected data may be standardized based on templates specifying data format and presentation. Additionally, the data may be automatically corrected by using data error lists that identify algorithms for diagnosing and correcting errors in the data. Data collected from multiple sources may be time-aligned so that data from different sources may be correlated together by time. In certain embodiments, time aligning the data may include adjusting manually-logged timestamps for events in macroscopic reports based on real-time data. In this way, heterogeneous data from a plurality of sources may be homogenized. Optionally, the homogenized data may be used as inputs for wellsite data analysis or to produce various types of quality reports.

  • Publication number: 20180229289
Abstract: A method to improve the collapse resistance of metallic tubular products is disclosed. The method comprises identifying the types of stress that can be applied in order to change the residual stress profile of metallic tubular products, such as those that have completed a straightening process, and results in a residual stress profile that improves collapse resistance. The metallic tubular product is subjected to radial compression processing to control the residual stress profile and to enhance collapse resistance. The radial compression process may be used after the tubular product has been subjected to a straightening process.

  • Patent number: 10034585
Abstract: The present application discloses liquid dispensers, refill units for liquid dispensers, liquid pumps, lost motion devices, and methods for installing a refill unit and lost motion device. In certain embodiments, a liquid dispenser of the present application comprises a container for holding a liquid, a pump housing connected to the container, a liquid or air chamber, and a piston movable in the liquid or air chamber. A connector is linked to the piston. The connector has a flexible portion for connecting to the piston and an attachment portion for attaching to an actuator of the dispenser. A restrictor is positioned between the flexible portion of the connector and the piston. Movement of the connector a first distance in a first direction results in lost motion between the actuator and the piston and continued movement of the connector a second distance in the first direction moves the piston with the actuator.
