    Abstract: A homogeneous dry particulate cement mixture in ready-to-use form is provided, which comprises ground blast-furnace slag having a specific surface area of 500-750 m.sup.2 /kg and ground fly ash having a specific surface area of 500-750 m.sup.2 /kg, in a weight ratio in the range of 20/80-70/30, and further comprises the following components in the amounts indicated, calculated on the total mixture: at least 2% by weight of portland cement clinker and 2-12% by weight of sodium silicate (calculated as Na.sub.2 O+SiO.sub.2). When processed, the cement mixture yields a mortar or a concrete having improved strength properties as well as a good resistance against an acidic environment.
