  • Patent number: 5285588
Abstract: A winged plow for moving snow or other materials with a vehicle has a support frame pivotally connected with one end of a plow vehicle. An elongated plow blade having two opposing ends is pivotally connected with the terminal end of the support frame for generally horizontal rotation between a centered position with the plow blade oriented generally perpendicular to the support frame and an angled position with the plow blade rotated substantially away from the centered position. One of a pair of plow blade wings is pivotally connected at each of the opposing ends of the plow blade for rotation between a closed position in which the wings project generally forward, the wings and plow blade defining a generally U-shaped assembly, and an open position in which the wings project in generally opposite directions, away from each other, effectively extending the length of the plow blade.

  • Patent number: 4206743
Abstract: A maximum efficiency stove or furnace for heating homes or other buildings. The stove includes a primary combustion area for burning a primary fuel, such as wood, and secondary combustion areas for burning the gases of combustion after they leave the primary combustion area. The combustion chambers and areas are at least partially surrounded by air heating enclosures through which ambient room air is forced, preferably by a fan, for heating. Air for sustaining combustion is preheated in a preheating chamber and fed through separate intakes to both the primary and secondary combustion areas. A single draft control is provided to control air flow through the preheating chamber and to simultaneously control the flow of preheated air to and through both said primary and secondary combustion air intakes.

  • Patent number: 4159584
Abstract: A push bumper is disclosed which is removably attachable to the front of a conventional snow plow and usable in pushing stalled vehicles and the like. The push bumper includes a rigid push plate, the front face of which is covered by a resilient material. The push plate is attached to the front of the snow plow through a hinge so that the plate pivots about a vertical axis and will follow the vehicle being pushed.

  • Patent number: 4123957
Abstract: Support apparatus for supporting logs, boards and other work pieces to be cut either transversely or lengthwise, as well as for supporting a chain saw by its blade for performing the cutting. A support platform includes a top surface, preferably inclined downwardly toward an operator position, and a restraining rail to hold the work pieces in position for cutting. A spring-biased, rotatable axle mounts the chain saw by the free end of its blade for pivotal movement along one side of the platform to transversely cut work pieces. Alternately, a rigid saw support holds a chain saw vertically upright with its blade plane parallel to the direction of elongation of the work pieces for rip cutting. An outwardly extending, side support, opposite the saw support, movably mounts a second platform for additional support and movement of long logs, boards or other work pieces.

  • Patent number: 4074448
Abstract: The specification discloses a snowplow for vehicles including a central, generally vertically extending hinge having blade sections on either side allowing the plow to be positioned in a forwardly projecting V shape, a recessed cupped shape, or angled to either side or laterally across the width of the vehicle. The hinge and blade sections are supported by a vertically extending hinge support member secured to and tapering toward the support frame from above and below the support frame. Means on the rear of the blade sections provide contacts or stops limiting rearward pivoting of the blades. Apparatus for laterally extending the blades as well as for horizontally hinging the vertically hinged blade to avoid obstacles during plowing is included. Also disclosed are a kit and method for converting a rigid, elongated snowplow to the said hinged snowplow.
