  • Patent number: 12133681
Abstract: Described is a method and device for dilating a tubular anatomical structure. The device and method can be useful for extracting a blood clot in an artery of a mammal by concentrically irradiating an inner wall of the occluded artery using an ultraviolet (UV) laser beam delivered by an optical fiber. Dilation results from photophysical production and release of nitric oxide from the cells lining the arterial wall when UV laser light is projected as a ring beam onto the inner arterial wall.

  • Patent number: 12087456
Abstract: A nuclear reactor comprises a nuclear reactor core disposed in a pressure vessel. An isolation valve protects a penetration through the pressure vessel. The isolation valve comprises: a mounting flange connecting with a mating flange of the pressure vessel; a valve seat formed into the mounting flange; and a valve member movable between an open position and a closed position sealing against the valve seat. The valve member is disposed inside the mounting flange or inside the mating flange of the pressure vessel. A biasing member operatively connects to the valve member to bias the valve member towards the open position. The bias keeps the valve member in the open position except when a differential fluid pressure across the isolation valve and directed outward from the pressure vessel exceeds a threshold pressure.

  • Patent number: 12065899
Abstract: A method can include deploying a diverter plug into a well, the diverter plug comprising a group of particles that are prevented from dispersing, flowing fluid, thereby conveying the diverter plug into engagement with a fluid passageway, the particles conforming to a shape of the fluid passageway as the diverter plug blocks fluid flow through the fluid passageway, and the particles being prevented from dispersing while the diverter plug blocks the fluid flow through the fluid passageway. The diverter plug can include a group of particles disposed within an outer enclosure. The particles in the enclosure can conform to a shape of the fluid passageway as the diverter plug blocks fluid flow through the fluid passageway. In another method, the enclosure can sealingly engage the fluid passageway while the particles remain disposed within the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20240191452
Abstract: The present application is directed to an automatic pilot valve (APV) system for foundation tooling, such as a continuous flight auger (CFA) or displacement tool structured to include a pilot tip receiving housing in communication with a cement supply in which when the pilot tip is in the retracted position while drilling operations are being performed, the pilot tip shaft blocks the flow of cement into the drilled hole. When the APV equipped CFA is being lifted out of the drilled hole, the APV pilot shaft slides outwardly simultaneously exposing one or more cement ports allowing cement to flow. The APV can include a one-piece machined, cast or forged valve housing, or manufactured by welding steel components into a multi-piece valve housing. The APV can be deployed externally by attachment to the outside of foundation or displacement tool stems or internally by installation inside of foundation or displacement tool stems.

  • Patent number: 11993994
Abstract: A jarring tool can include a longitudinally displaceable piston, a first fluid chamber having a volume that decreases in response to displacement of the piston, a flow controller that controls flow of fluid between the first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber, and a plug seat secured to the piston. A method of applying a jarring force can include applying a pressure differential across a plug in a jarring tool, the plug restricting flow from a first flow passage section to a second flow passage section, then increasing a flow rate of fluid from the first flow passage section. Another jarring tool can include an outer housing with a longitudinal flow passage and seal surfaces at opposite ends of the outer housing, and a flow obstruction, fluid flow through the flow passage being increased in response to application of a pressure differential across the obstruction.

  • Patent number: 11991681
Abstract: A station (STA), which supports multiple spatial streams, can, and sometimes does, re-advertise the station as supporting less spatial stream (SS) than the actual number of spatial streams that the device does actually support. In some embodiments, a station's maximum advertised maximum number of spatial streams is proactively reduced based on the station's throughput being below one or more thresholds. In some embodiments, the analysis and level of spatial stream value to be reported in a re-advertisement is determined by the access point. In some other embodiments, the analysis and level of spatial stream value to be reported in a re-advertisement is determined by the station. The access point allocating its limited supported spatial streams among stations is able to more efficiently allocate the air link resources.

  • Patent number: 11943635
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating the deployment of a wireless extender in combination with a base station at a customer premises are described. Support is provided for data rate testing in combination with configuring one or more aspects of the system such as wireless extender and/or base station transmission power level. By using testing a system can be deployed where one or more devices may use transmission power levels which are less than the maximum permitted transmission power level while still supporting an expected data rate corresponding to a subscriber service level in a reliable manner. In various embodiments DFS channel black and/or white lists are generated for each link taking into consideration the determined transmit power to be used for a given link.
