  • Publication number: 20230116715
Abstract: A cable-operated exercise device includes an adjustable arm. The adjustable arm includes an adjustment mechanism that is operable by a single hand. To adjust the vertical angular position of the arm, the user pulls a pin out of a positioning hole on an adjustment plate. The arm is counterbalanced about a pivot connection so that the position of the arm does not change when the pin is pulled out of the positioning hole. The user then moves the arm into a second position and puts the pin back into a second positioning hole.

  • Patent number: 11058914
Abstract: A method for cooling a motor on a treadmill includes rotating a flywheel with a drive motor. A ring member coupled to the flywheel is be rotated with the flywheel. A pressure drop is generated in an annulus of the ring member between the drive motor and a lift motor. Intake air is drawn in a first direction across the lift motor toward the pressure drop.

  • Patent number: 10729965
Abstract: A treadmill may include a platform, at least one pulley attached to the platform, a sliding surface of the platform, a tread belt riding portion of the sliding surface, a tread belt surrounding the pulley and the sliding surface, the tread belt having at least one side edge, and a belt guide incorporated into the platform. The belt guide includes a textured portion of the sliding surface aligned with the side edge of the tread belt and spaced apart therefrom when the tread belt is positioned entirely within the tread belt riding portion. When the textured portion comes into contact the tread belt from the tread belt being misaligned out of the tread belt riding portion, the tread belt and the textured portion collectively produce a misalignment sound audible to a user when the tread belt moves against the sliding surface.

  • Patent number: 10441844
Abstract: An exercise machine may include a deck, a motor housing incorporated into the deck, a lift motor located in the motor housing, and a cooling mechanism that cools the lift motor when the cooling mechanism is activated. An airflow pathway may be defined to direct air from the cooling mechanism to a location above the motor housing and on to a user of the exercise machine. The exercise machine may be configured such that upon beginning operation of the machine, substantially all of the airflow exhausts to the location above the motor housing. A mechanism may be provided to selectively alter a characteristic of the airflow after the exercise machine has begun operation.
