  • Patent number: 11248427
Abstract: A service tool that may be inserted into a tubular, the service tool includes an anchoring system. The anchoring system includes a body having a first end, a second end, and an opening extending along a portion of the body between the first end and the second end and a gripping assembly housed within and coupled to the body. The gripping assembly may anchor at least a portion of the service tool to the tubular, and the gripping assembly includes a plurality of anchor arms disposed within the opening and that may move relative to the body. The anchoring system also includes an actuator disposed within a central bore of the body and coupled to the gripping assembly.

  • Publication number: 20060070433
Abstract: A borehole caliper tool includes a tool body, a bow spring flexibly coupled to the tool body, a target coupled to the bow spring, and an ultrasonic transducer coupled to the tool body, wherein in operation the ultrasonic transducer transmits an acoustic pulse to the target and receives an echo of the acoustic pulse from the target.

  • Publication number: 20060064889
Abstract: A borehole caliper tool includes a tool body and an arm coupled to the tool body. The arm is deflectable relative to the tool body. The caliper tool further includes a cam coupled to the arm such that a position of the cam changes as the arm deflects. The caliper tool further includes a proximity sensor for sensing the position of the cam, wherein the position of the cam provides an indication of the deflection of the arm relative to the tool body.

  • Publication number: 20050263325
Abstract: A system is provided for driving a chain or other flexible device. The system may include a power source connected to one or more screws that are engageable with the chain. Rotation of the screw or screws results in linear motion of the chain. The screws may be power screws, lead screws, or other known types of screws. One or more power screws may be used in combination with threaded components, such as split or quarter nuts, which are connected to the chain. One or more lead screws may be used in combination with rollers that are connected to the chain. Two lead screws may be mounted on opposite sides of the chain in generally parallel relationship and engaged with rollers that are mounted on opposite sides of the chain; the two lead screws preferably rotate in opposite directions to impart linear motion to the chain. The system has a variety of applications, such as in downhole tractors for use in oil and gas applications, toys, military tanks, any type of vehicle, etc.
