  • Publication number: 20220354359
Abstract: A modular access medical system configured to enable a surgeon to conduct a medical procedure in fluid contained within a defined space is disclosed. As such, the system increases visibility to an operating surgeon by eliminating smoke and other vapors formed during use of a medical instrument at the surgical site. The modular access medical system may be formed from a distal end of a cannula configured to be placed into contact with tissue such that fluid can be administered within the cannula and retained therein to facilitate a surgical procedure to be conducted via one or more instruments extending through fluid contained within the cannula.

  • Patent number: 10016280
Abstract: A spinal insert provides for a method of spinal adjustment to adjust inter-vertebral spacing and alignment of vertebral bodies relative to a pre-determined reference line determined from measurement including but not limited to the pelvic incidence, pelvic tilt, and C7 plumb line. The device includes an upper arm and a lower arm extending outwardly from a base section defining a frame. An adjustment member is positioned between the upper arm and the lower arm. The adjustment member has a plurality of distinct lengths measured straight through a center of the adjustment member. The adjustment member is rotatable wherein an angle between the upper arm and the lower arm is selectively adjustable by rotation of the adjustment member. Spacing of vertebral endplates using a plurality of the frames described permits adjustment of the vertebral bodies to a desired angle relative to the pelvic orientation of an individual patient.

  • Patent number: 9901382
Abstract: A bone graft injector device for injecting bone graft material during a surgical procedure includes a barrel defining a channel extending between a first end and a second end. The second end of the barrel defines an opening into the channel. A matter holding section of the channel extending inwardly from the opening has a constant cross-sectional area extending towards the first end. The constant cross-sectional area is equal to an area of the opening. A plunger is positioned in the channel wherein the plunger is configured for urging bone graft material within the matter holding section of the channel out of the second end through the opening.

  • Publication number: 20170189219
Abstract: A lordosis adjustable back brace device supports a desired shape of the spine. The device includes a belt for extending around a torso of a human. The belt has a front closure and is positionable in a closed loop. A support panel is coupled to the belt such that the support panel projects from an inner surface of the closed loop towards a center of the closed loop. The support panel abuts the torso and has a curved surface facing the center of the closed loop. A curvature of the curved surface extending between lateral edges of the belt is adjustable.

  • Patent number: 9675468
Abstract: A spinal insert device adjusts inter-vertebral spacing and alignment of the spine relative to pelvic incidence, pelvic tilt and overall sagittal alignment. The device includes an upper arm having a substantially planar upper surface and a lower arm having a substantially planar lower surface. Each of the upper arm and the lower arm extends outwardly from a base section. A hinge couples the upper arm to the base section such that the upper arm is pivotable relative to the base section.

  • Patent number: 9149368
Abstract: A spondylolithesis reduction spinal insert fusion cage reduces spondylolithesis. The cage includes a first beam and a second beam each abutting one of a pair of adjacently positioned vertebral bodies. Spaced bars extend from the first beam and a threaded drive shaft is rotatably coupled to the first beam extending between the spaced bars. A second perimeter rim extends from the second beam. The bars are inserted into sleeves extending between the second beam and the second perimeter rim. At least one bridge extending between the sleeves has a medial section engaging the shaft wherein the bridge is moved along the shaft when the shaft is rotated. Each of a pair of connectors couples an associated one of the first beam and the second beam to an associated one of the vertebral bodies.
