  • Publication number: 20180057847
Abstract: Silicone oil is a reaction medium or separation medium, or both, for ester synthesis. Enzyme-catalyzed esterification is conducted in the silicone oil, with ester product soluble therein. Ester is separated from silicone by distillation. Esterification in silicone oil in conjunction with a simultaneous fermentation process, results in alcohol fermentation products flowing through the intervening silicone oil (serving as an oxygen barrier) to react with organic acid at an oil:aqueous interface, catalyzed by an enzyme (e.g., lipase, esterase). Ester solubility in silicone is leveraged for extraction, isolating catalyzed (metal, chemical or enzyme) ester reaction products from an original reaction (aqueous or organic) medium. Esters may be generated from alcohol fermented from organic matter of agricultural waste products, utilizing cheaply available silicone oil. Similarly, silicone oil may also be used to extract from a polar solvent (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20170081084
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a drawstring bag comprising a first panel and a second panel. The first panel and the second panel are joined along a first side, a bottom, and a second side. The first panel and the second panel thereby define an upper opening of the bag. The drawstring bag may further comprise a first pair of drawstrings disposed within a first hem along the upper opening of the bag in the first panel and a second pair of drawstrings disposed within a second hem along the upper opening of the bag in the second panel. The first pair of drawstrings may comprise a shorter elastic drawstring and a longer inelastic drawstring.

  • Publication number: 20120175052
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a cut length of cloth for sewing a drapery panel which feeds out a selected amount of cloth, provides alignment guides to fit a length of buckram into the proper location for attachment to the piece of cloth, aligns a cutter to the proper position to cut the proper length of cloth, sprays an ultra violet line to mark the edge of the hem as the cloth is cut and includes a marking gauge for hand or automatic marking the proper position for the pleats. The resulting piece of cloth is ready to be sewn singly or with other pieces into a drapery panel and to have the pleats or rod pockets sown.

  • Patent number: 6152438
Abstract: A fabric spreading machine including a dispensing system frame, a fabric dispensing assembly secured to the frame, a floor mounted track and a drive system secured to the frame for traversing the track. Also disclosed is a loading and unloading system for loading and unloading a fabric roll and securing it to the dispensing system frame. This system is designed to permit fabric to be dispensed from a fabric roll onto a conventional fabric spreading table without placing the weight of the fabric spreading machine directly on the fabric spreading table.

  • Patent number: 4120740
Abstract: This invention describes a process for applying a reinforcing or stiffening tape such as buckram or Pellon (registered trademark of the Pellon Corporation, New York, N.Y.) to a panel of drapery or other material directly, without the necessity of pre-marking, measuring or stitching. This is accomplished by the step of adhesively bonding the strip of reinforcing tape near the bottom edge of a panel suspended from the opposite end. Thereafter, the panel and the reinforcing strip adhesively secured thereto, is folded over itself and the reinforcing tape sandwiched between the two layers of panel and secured thereto in the form of a reinforcing heading. The reinforcing tape is mounted in the form of a spool onto a carriage mounted near the bottom of the frame of the tabler. The carriage is mounted for transverse movement across the frame in a straight line so as to adhesively supply one face of the reinforcing tape onto the edge of the panel suspended from the tabler.

Abstract: This invention describes a process for applying a reinforcing or stiffening strip such as buckram or PELLON (Reg. trademark of the Pellon Corp., New York, N.Y.) to a panel of drapery material directly without the necessity of premarking, measuring, and stitching. This is accomplished by the step of adhesively securing the strip of reinforcing material to the bottom edge of a drapery panel suspended vertically from the hem end. Thereafter, the panel and the reinforcing strip adhesively secured thereto is folded over itself and the reinforcing strip, sandwiched between the two layers of drapery panel is secured thereto in the form of a reinforced heading. The step of securing the reinforcing strip in sandwiched position between the two layers of paneled material may be by means of stapling, adhesive means or by stitching.
