  • Publication number: 20110027714
Abstract: Toner particles are provided which may, in embodiments, include an additive package possessing both a silica that has been treated with polydimethyl siloxane and a titanium dioxide that has been subjected to a fluorine treatment. The silica that has been treated with polydimethyl siloxane has low levels of free polydimethyl siloxane. The combined additives provide toners with excellent charging characteristics and good blocking performance.

  • Publication number: 20070009823
Abstract: A toner composition includes toner particles of at least a resin, a wax, and a colorant, and external additives applied on an exterior surface of the toner particles, including silica, titania, and spacer particles.

  • Publication number: 20060269859
Abstract: A toner that is emulsion aggregation toner particles having an acrylate-containing polymer binder and at least one colorant has an average particle size of from about 5.0 ?m to about 6.7 ?m and an average circularity of about 0.950 to about 0.970. The toner preferably is comprised of styrene-butyl acrylate binder and gel. The toner preferably exhibits a transfer efficiency of about 0.8-1.0, a developability of about 0.3 to about 1.5 mg/cm2, and a charge to diameter ratio (q/d) of about ?0.7 to about ?0.1 fC/micron. A developer containing the toner and a method of forming an image using the toner are also described.

  • Publication number: 20060154162
Abstract: Toner particles comprise resin, wax and optionally colorants, and the wax is substantially excluded from the interior core of the toner particles. Processes for preparing such toner particles comprise providing an aqueous dispersion of resin particles and optionally colorants, mixing the aqueous dispersion in presence of a coagulant, aggregating to form particles, coalescing to form fused particles, and removing the fused particles from the aqueous dispersion. Wax dispersions can be added either after mixing or during aggregation, so that wax is excluded from the core of the toner particles.

  • Publication number: 20060121384
Abstract: Toner compositions include a non cross linked resin; a cross linked resin or gel; a wax; and a colorant. Processes for preparing a toner include mixing a non-cross linked resin and a cross-linked resin or gel in the presence of a wax, a colorant, and a coagulant to provide toner size aggregates; adding additional non-cross linked latex to the formed aggregates thereby providing a shell over the formed aggregates; heating the shell covered aggregates to form toner; and, optionally, isolating the toner.
