  • Publication number: 20240130086
Abstract: A multimode immersion cooling system includes a first, single-phase immersion cooling mode and a second, two-phase immersion cooling mode. The system operates in a single phase mode and reserves a two-phase mode for peak energy consumption periods. A single thermal transfer fluid is used for both modes, remaining in a liquid phase in a first single-phase immersion cooling mode and vaporizing when the thermal transfer fluid temperature reaches its boiling point in a second two-phase immersion cooling mode. A heat exchanger extracts thermal energy from heated thermal transfer fluid in the single phase mode while a condenser cools vaporized thermal transfer fluid to condense the vapor during the second, two-phase immersion cooling mode. A controller determines whether the multimode immersion cooling system operates in the single-phase mode or the second two-phase mode, or both.

  • Patent number: 10976829
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for displaying augmented-reality objects may include capturing, by an augmented-reality system, an image of a user's hand. The method may also include applying a machine learning model to the image to identify a set of key points and determine a gesture of the hand based on the key points. In addition, the method may include identifying a targeted area of the image containing a portion of a finger based on the key points and the gesture and, subsequently, detecting a pair of edge contours of the finger by performing a computer vision method on the targeted area. Furthermore, the method may include extrapolating a location to place an augmented-reality object on the finger. Finally, the method may include displaying, by the augmented-reality system, the augmented-reality object at the location on the finger by tracking the key points. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10789778
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for displaying augmented-reality objects may include matching, by one or more cameras of an augmented-reality system, a user's hand with a predefined silhouette model with weighted features. The method may also include identifying a location on the user's hand to place an augmented-reality object. In addition, the method may include tracking, by the augmented-reality system, an orientation of the location on the user's hand using the weighted features. Furthermore, the method may include displaying, by the augmented-reality system, the augmented-reality object on the user's hand based on the orientation of the location on the user's hand. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10426598
Abstract: A visual image processing method is based on received spatial field information (302) from a spatial field sensor (116). A data store (804) is accessed, which contains a sensor map data structure (206) comprising a set of predefined regions (208) within a spatial field corresponding with the information received via the sensor input. Each predefined region is associated in the data structure with one or more of a set of stimuli (204) applicable to a biological visual system, and each stimulus corresponds with a visual percept (210). The spatial field information associated with each region is processed to generate stimulus control information which is applied to select, from within the sensor map data structure, stimuli from the set of stimuli for application to the biological visual system. Output stimulus signals (310) are generated, which are suitable for application to the biological visual system based upon the selected stimuli.

  • Patent number: 9504342
Abstract: A closure assembly for a drinking cup includes an annular body, with a rim for drinking, mountable to a cup. A closure member, having apertures, is disposed within the body and extends across the cup. A sealing element, on an inner side of the closure member, and an actuator, on the opposite side of the closure member, are coupled to each other with the sealing element biased into a rest position in which it is urged against the inner side of the closure member to block the apertures and prevent liquid flow therethrough. The sealing element moves out of the rest position to allow liquid flow through the apertures when pressure sufficient to overcome the bias is applied to the actuator. The closure member includes a diaphragm that is integrally formed with a biasing member to bias the sealing element into the rest position.

  • Publication number: 20160325096
Abstract: A prosthetic processing apparatus (200) for use by a visually-impaired subject comprises at least one sensor (104) configured to capture and output physical information of a spatial field, an output interface (208) coupled to a sensory input device which is configured to apply a signal to a sensory pathway of the visually impaired subject, and a processor (202) operatively coupled to the sensor (104) and to the output interface (208). The processor (202) is configured to receive (402) the physical information of the spatial field from the sensor (104), and to process (404) the received information to identify one or more salient features of a predetermined category (such as edges, plane surfaces, human faces and/or bodies) within the spatial field.

  • Publication number: 20140305945
Abstract: A closure assembly for a drinking cup is disclosed. It comprises an annular body (5) mountable to an open upper end of a cup (3) and having a rim (8) to enable a user to drink liquid from said cup through the annular body (5). A closure member (9) is disposed within said body (5) and is positionable so as to extend across the open upper end of the cup (3) to which the body (5) is mounted. The closure member (9) has a plurality of apertures (12) in it. A sealing element (14) is located on an inner side of the closure member (9) and an actuator (15) on the opposite side of the closure member (9) which is accessible to a user when said closure assembly (2) is mounted to a cup (3). The sealing element (14) and actuator (15) are coupled to each other with the sealing element (14) biased into a rest position in which it is urged against said inner side of the closure member (9) to block said apertures (12) and prevent the flow of liquid therethrough.
