  • Patent number: 5951362
Abstract: A high speed electric toy vehicle having a high current rating electric motor is provided with a fail-safe mechanism which would promptly operate to cut off motor power supply before the battery is burnt or the vehicle housing is melted as a result of over-current developed across an electric motor due to locking of rotary shaft under operating conditions. The fail-safe mechanism operates by detecting the presence or absence of motor motion as indicated by a motion tag which are attached to a part of the vehicle which always moves in response to movement of the motor shaft. The mechanism will cut off supply to the motor when no motion has been detected for a pre-determined time period.

  • Patent number: 5775972
Abstract: A toy vehicle having a rigid chassis, a steering control mechanism, and first and second wheels which are controllable by the steering control mechanism to steer a vehicle. A cam and step arrangement selectively redistributes the effective weight acting on first and second wheels so as to increase the relative effective weight on the one of the first and second wheels on the side of the vehicle to which the vehicle is desired to turn.

  • Patent number: 5762554
Abstract: A simple, low-cost but efficient closed-loop steering control mechanism for a remote-controlled toy which can be utilised to quickly steer a mobile toy to a plurality of pre-determined steering orientations by comparing feedback signals from the steering mechanism with a two-component reference signal which is unique for each specific steering position and is generated by a steering controller in response to instructions from a remote controller.
