Publication number: 20250148029Abstract: In some implementations, a computing system can deliver personalized content while preserving user privacy. For example, the computing system can include a content server that filters, deduplicates, and generates clusters of content items (e.g., articles, news stories, etc.) that are relevant to an investment identifier received in a request from a client device. The content server can send the clusters of content items to the requesting client. Upon receiving the clusters of content items, requesting client device can evaluate the content items based on user preferences stored on the user device and select a representative content item from one or more content item clusters. The selected content item can then be presented on a display of the user device. Thus, personalization of content item selection and presentation can be performed without distributing user preference data outside of the user device thereby preserving user privacy.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2025Publication date: May 8, 2025Inventors: Dominic J. Publication number: 20250141248Abstract: A visual indication device includes: device body provided with a concave portion with a surface opening; semi-transparent reflective mirror positioned to cover the surface opening of the concave portion; reflective mirror arranged on a bottom surface of the concave portion; light source located inside the device body and configured to generate light; light guide element arranged on one side of the concave portion to guide the light to refract towards the semi-transparent reflective mirror. There is a distance space between the semi-transparent mirror and the reflective mirror that can duplicate the light to be a 3D pattern from the light guide. The light effect is generated by a few light sources—LED, which can form many moving patterns by dimming and growing light. That can provide more indication messages and the look decoration to users.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2023Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: RONALD SIU, KWOK CHU CHU, TSZ WAI LAU, JESSICA CHAN

Publication number: 20250005957Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for providing instructions when receiving biometric data associated with a user. For instance, an electronic device may detect a portion of a user, such as a hand. The electronic device may then determine locations of the portion of the user relative to the electronic device. Based on the locations, the electronic device may cause a visual indicator to provide instructions to the user for placing the portion of the user at a target location relative to the electronic device. For example, the visual indicator may emit light indicating that the portion of the user is off-centered, angled, too low, and/or too high. After providing the instructions and determining that the portion of the user is at the target location, the electronic device may capture at least an image of the portion of the user and use the image to identify an account.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2024Publication date: January 2, 2025Inventors: Howie Ho Wai Lau, Jennifer Li

Publication number: 20240340031Abstract: A cancellation circuit includes a limiter connected to an output of a first transmitter power amplifier that converts in input sinewave to a digital square wave and a digital to time converter (DTC) connected to the limiter. A RF digital to RF converter is connected to the DTC that converts the digital square wave input into an analog RF output. A cancellation amplifier with an input receives an output from the RF digital to RF converter and has an output connected to an output of a second transmitter power amplifier. The cancellation amplifier produces a cancellation signal to cancel an interference signal at the output of the second transmitter power amplifier from the output of the first transmitter power amplifier. A power detector is connected to the output of the second power amplifier that produces a power value detected at the output of the second power amplifier.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2023Publication date: October 10, 2024Inventors: Sai-Wang Tam, Tian Liu, Alireza Razzaghi, Alden C. Patent number: 11636501Abstract: The embodiments set forth techniques for delivering relevant news articles to users. The techniques can involve auditioning different categories of news articles (e.g., entertainment, sports, technology, etc.) to a user to create a pleasant onboarding experience that requires minimal user input. As time progresses, affinity information for the user is gathered from various sources (e.g., news readers, web browsers, third-party applications, etc.). The affinity information can be used to (1) suggest additional categories in which the user might be interested, and (2) increase the accuracy by which subsequent news articles are delivered to the user. Additionally, feedback information about the user's interaction with the subsequent news articles can then be obtained, and various metrics associated with these news articles can be updated to reflect the user's interaction. In turn, the various updated metrics can enable these news articles to be delivered to other users in a more accurate manner.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2017Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Dominic J.
