  • Patent number: 9761098
Abstract: An entry sensor, which supports either wireless or wired operation, facilitates installation and is adjustable for gaps between a building entry barrier such as a door or window and the surrounding frame. The sensor, which may be implemented as a single piece design, includes an adjustment mechanism that enables an installer to vary the extension of the sensor to match the actual gap so that the sensor properly secures the building entry when closed. The sensor includes a detector that determines the state of a switch that is responsive to the movement of a plunger mechanism, where the state is indicative whether the building entry barrier is opened or closed, and that may determine whether the sensor is tampered with. The sensor also may facilitate battery replacement that protects the associated circuitry during the replacement.

  • Publication number: 20170123515
Abstract: The present invention supports the control of a plurality of controlled devices. With three dimensional accelerometer components, detection of a user action on a remote controller and the orientation of the remote controller are viable through small electronic devices. Aspects of the invention are based on the three dimensional accelerometer components to provide a remote controller that can detect the user action. Based on the user action, the remote controller transmits a signal to the controlled device which conveys the corresponding command. A selected controlled device may be matched to the remote controller. The remote controller and controlled device may also support a learning mode, in which the controlled device sends a list of supported commands to the remote controller. The remote controller then matches an associated action with each command in the command list.

  • Patent number: 9573908
Abstract: Using a whole-cell high-throughput screen, eleven molecules were identified that activate V. cholerae quorum sensing (QS). Eight molecules are receptor agonists and three molecules are antagonists of LuxO, the central NtrC-type response regulator that controls the global V. cholerae QS cascade. Pro-QS molecules are used for the development of novel anti-infectives.

  • Patent number: 9444768
Abstract: A multi-router system is described in which hardware and software components of one or more standalone routers can be partitioned into multiple logical routers. The multiple logical routers are isolated from each other in terms of routing and forwarding functions yet allow network interfaces to be shared between the logical routers. Moreover, different logical routers can share network interfaces without impacting the ability of any of the logical routers to be independently scaled to meet the bandwidth demands of the customers serviced by the logical router.

  • Patent number: 9407628
Abstract: A framework, which conforms to the OAuth standard, involves a generic OAuth authorization server that can be used by multiple resource servers in order to ensure that access to resources stored on those resource servers is limited to access to which the resource owner consents. Each resource server registers, with the OAuth authorization server, metadata for that resource server, indicating scopes that are recognized by the resource server. The OAuth authorization server refers to this metadata when requesting consent from a resource owner on behalf of a client application, so that the consent will be of an appropriate scope. The OAuth authorization server refers to this metadata when constructing an access token to provide to the client application for use in accessing the resources on the resource server. The OAuth authorization server uses this metadata to map issued access tokens to the scopes to which those access tokens grant access.

  • Patent number: 9387991
Abstract: An apparatus for arranging integrated circuit receiving tubes, the apparatus including a reverse mechanism, a detection element and a discharge mechanism. In use, the reverse mechanism receives a tube and the detection element determines an orientation of the received tube. The reverse mechanism moves to allow the discharge mechanism to receive the tube from itself. If the orientation of the received tube differs from a desired orientation, the movement of the reverse mechanism changes the orientation of the tube before allowing the discharge mechanism to receive the tube. Otherwise, the orientation of the tube is maintained notwithstanding the movement of the reverse mechanism, and is subsequently received by the discharge mechanism. This helps to automatically ensure that all the tubes are received by the discharge mechanism in the same orientation.

  • Patent number: 9295420
Abstract: A transmission-reflectance swappable Raman device and a method thereof are disclosed. The excitation light is selectively directed to the sample in one direction for generating the transmission Raman signal in transmission mode or in another direction for generating the reflectance Raman signal in reflectance mode. The content of an analyte in a sample can be determined by analyzing transmission and reflectance Raman signal.
