  • Publication number: 20150124593
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns interference congestion control in radio communication networks. Disclosed herein are methods as well radio network nodes. A radio network node may, for example, estimate a neighboring cell interference. The radio network node may also detect a sudden significant increase in the estimated neighboring cell interference. In response to detecting a sudden significant in the estimated neighboring cell interference, the radio network node may also transmit a message to at least one other radio network node. This message may include an indicator indicating to said at least one radio network node to initiate an interference congestion control procedure. Hereby it is made possible to allow for interference congestion control in radio communication networks.

  • Publication number: 20140307644
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method performed by a communication device 3 for uplink transmission. The communication device 3 is configured with a primary carrier for uplink data transmission and a dedicated secondary carrier for uplink data transmission to a network node 5A, 5B, 7. The method comprises: transmitting 604 a scheduling information report using the primary carrier; receiving 608 a grant to use the dedicated secondary carrier; and transmitting 610 user data using a data channel on the dedicated secondary carrier upon reception of the grant for the dedicated secondary carrier, wherein the communication device 3 is configured such that it does not transmit any data on the dedicated secondary carrier unless receiving a grant for the dedicated secondary carrier. The disclosure also relates to corresponding method in network node, and to a communication device and network node.

  • Patent number: 8755270
Abstract: A radio access network (20) comprises a radio network controller (26) and a radio base station (28). The radio network controller (26) is configured to perform admission control and to allocate resources of a cell. The radio base station (28) is configured to determine load/congestion on a high speed shared channel and to generate an indication of the load/congestion for transmission to the radio network controller. In some example embodiments and modes, at least one of the radio network controller and the radio base station is configured to allocate at least some of the resources for the high speed shared channel to support a guaranteed service and also to allocate at least some resources to support a non-guaranteed service. In some example implementations of this aspect, a user(s) of the non-guaranteed service is permitted to use the resources up to a reserved resource level of resources.

  • Publication number: 20140086220
Abstract: Techniques for supporting concurrent deployment of 2-millisecond and 10-millisecond TTI for E-DCH transmissions in CELL_FACH state and Idle Mode are disclosed. One example method comprises receiving a (310) transport block from a mobile terminal, wherein said transport block is transmitted using either a 10-millisecond or 2-millisecond TTI, and sending (320), to an RNC, an indication of whether data carried by the transport block was transmitted using the 10-millisecond TTI or the 2-millisecond TTI. In some embodiments, the indication is sent in a user plane frame sent over a base-station-to-RNC interface. A spare bit in an uplink data frame sent to the RNC may be used, for example.

  • Publication number: 20140078948
Abstract: Methods and devices relating to Discontinuous reception (DRX) mode are disclosed. In some embodiments a radio network controller detects that a User Equipment operating in a Discontinuous reception mode has performed an uplink transmission on a Random Access Channel, RACH and sends a signal to a Node B that received the uplink transmission indicating to the Node B that the UE has performed said uplink transmission and is continuously monitoring downlink transmissions, where the signal includes information identifying the UE.

  • Publication number: 20130142076
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method in a network node (12,14) for signalling Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request, HARQ, configuration for a common enhanced dedicated channel configuration in a radio communications network (1). The network node (12,14) is comprised in the radio communications network (1) and serves a user equipment (10). The network node (12,14) determines a state of a HARQ process of a transmission time interval out of a number of HARQ processes for a common enhanced dedicated channel configuration. The state is defining whether the HARQ process is active or inactive. The network node (12,14) signals the HARQ configuration for the common enhanced dedicated channel configuration by broadcasting a value representing the state of the HARQ process.
